8/27/2017 Update: Stella was ADOPTED!!!! We are extremely happy to announce Stella has found her forever home.
Stella joined NBBR after several bumps in her life journey. She was abandoned at a vet due to her skin infections and asked to be euthanized. Luckily, the vet contacted a local Rescue and asked them to help save her. The Rescue was an all breed rescue and decided Stella needed to be in a Bulldog Rescue more familiar with Bulldogs and their “issues”. Stella then joined NBBR and quickly acclimated to her new foster home. In addition to skin issues, Stella has chronic ear issues. But even with these “issues” Stella has the sweetest personality. She gets along with everyone and LOVES to ride in the car. She also LOVES to give Bulldog kisses. It was her personality that drew her new forever family to her.
Stella actually had a Meet and Greet with her new parents last weekend. It was love at first sight for everyone involved. But… there was one more hurdle that needed to be cleared before Stella could officially join her forever family. Stella’s new Mom watches her granddaughter during the week where there are two dogs that Stella would interact with. Stella’s Mom didn’t want to bring her into a new family only to spend all day by herself alone. She wanted Stella to be able to travel with her and enjoy the good life. So a second Meet and Greet was scheduled with the canines to see if everyone would get along. It was a success!!! Stella will now be the queen of the house. She will get to interact with her fur cousins and a sibling toddler. Then after fun filled days Stella gets to go home and chill with her new Mom and Dad.
Stella went from being unwanted to the apple of her new families’ eyes. A true Rescue success story if we have ever heard one. Congratulations to Stella and her forever parents.
7/30/2017 Update: Stella is doing awesome! She loves watching Netflix, chewing on a good bone, and relaxing in the A/C……basically being a princess!
7/23/2017 Update: Miss Stella continues to be a perfect house guest! She is continuing to relax in her surroundings and show her sweet personality, loves going for a ride in the car, and is a huge fan of a nap!
7/14/2017 Update: Miss Stella is beginning to show her playful side after Ruby Rose has been trying for several days to get her to wrestle. Thankfully she is gentle enough and hasn’t squished her much leaner foster sister!! She is now a real member or our pack and enjoys keeping me company anywhere I go in the house and sunning herself on the deck during the day! Stella is a joy to have and has perfect potty and crate manners……I’m sure her prefect forever home is out there somewhere!!
7/8/2017 Update: Stella continues to settle in well and is the perfect house guest. She is completely potty trained, does great on a leash, and loves her kennel aka “safe space”. She is not a huge eater or fan of the bathtub but loves a good scrubbing once in there!
7/2/2017 Update: Please welcome Stella to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family. Stella is a 5 year old female English Bulldog that weighs 52 lbs.
On the journey of life Stella has hit a few bumps the last couple of months. Earlier this year, Stella was taken to a local vet office and was told that due to her skin issues, her family could not afford her care and wanted her euthanized. The vet clinic happens to work with an all breed rescue and they called them to see if they could help Stella. This rescue said yes, took Stella in and began her treatment. After several months of treatment, the all breed rescue, knowing that Bulldogs require a special home, reached out to NBBR to see if we would help Stella find that forever home. So, Stella joined NBBR and joined her foster family this afternoon.
When Stella joined her first Rescue she was a MESS, her neck was raw and bloody. She had severe flea dermatitis and needed treatment desperately. The all breed rescue did a phenomenal job nursing Stella back to health. When she arrived today, her skin condition is much improved. While her neck has seen the hair grow back nicely, there are some spots on her rear end that still show signs of scarring. Stella is a healthy, happy, beautiful southern belle. She has the sweetest personality, while being transported today, Stella decided she needed to try to lick our volunteers face while he was driving. She also wanted to be petted NON STOP, if the petting did stop, Stella had no problem using her head to nudge her transport to alert him that she hadn’t decided that petting time was over. All in all Stella is almost perfect, however she does have one small issue- while she gets along well with other dogs she needs to be fed separately. Ms. Stella thinks ALL food belongs to her and she isn’t afraid to let those around her know this. She has no issues sharing anything else, just not her dinner.
Stella will begin her search for a forever home. Ideally a calm quiet home where Stella can spend her days relaxing with her humans would make this little lady extremely happy.
