4/12/2018 Update:
Serena was ADOPTED!!!! We are so happy to announce Serena has found her happily ever after AND her forever home.
Serena and her sister Venus joined No Borders Bulldog Rescue as owner surrenders. The sisters were purchased to be part of a breeding program. However, when both sisters had their first heat, it was discovered they each had a prolapsed uterus. This condition required an emergency spay for both girls. Because they were no longer able to be bred, the family decided to sell them. A guardian angel stepped in and rescued the girls and then surrendered them to NBBR to help them find their forever family. While the sisters came from the same location, it was apparent that they weren’t a “bonded pair”. Because of this, Serena and Venus were placed in separate foster homes and started looking for individual adoptive families.
Serena’s forever family actually met her several weeks ago at an event. They had not been officially approved when they met her, so they were nervous to fall in love with her thinking she probably wouldn’t be available when they were approved. The family decided they would bring their current pup to another event to see if he approved of Serena. During the first meeting with Serena and her eventual new brother, neither one seemed to be interested in each other. Long story short, the family was approved AND Serena was still available. Everyone involved decided to have another Meet and Greet with the two pups to determine if it would be a fit. This meeting took place at the families home and boy was it vastly different from the first meeting. The two pups immediately started running, chasing and playing with each other like they had been together forever. With that piece of the puzzle solved, the rest was easy. As mentioned, Serena now has an older canine brother whom she loves. She also has a new forever Mom, Dad and human sibling as well. Everyone is so excited to welcome Miss Serena into their home and we couldn’t be happier with this match. Congratulations to Serena and the entire family.

Salutations Friends!
What a fun and exciting weekend. I got to go play with a new dog at some friend’s house. Oh my goodness we had so much fun! Guess what!?! That puppy knew how to play tug-o-war too! Even though we had never met before we played and chased each other and shared toys and even food. I get along with everyone! Dogs and people alike. Then I got into my foster mom’s car to head home and I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I’m usually great in the car anyway but I had so much fun, I was asleep before the end of the driveway!
Everyone loves me and says what a good girl I am and I have been working hard to be. My manners improve every day and I will do anything for belly rubs. I enjoy meeting new people and new furry friends. Everyday is an adventure and I’m loving it!
Have a wonderful day, friends, and see you soon!

4/1/2018 Update: Salutations friends! Everyday is more and more fun! This week I didn’t tear anything up. No really! I swear! I didn’t even unplug anything. I’m really settling into this life of living (and being spoiled but with manners) in a home. I’ve gotten better about personal space but my foster mom says I’m part lizard. I like to lay really close to the ground and slither as close as possible. I think I’m being sneaky but mom says it is so cute she lets me get away with it. I love cuddles and naps and FOOD! and I really enjoy meeting new people and being outside. During my outdoor adventures, I have discovered an affinity for wet grass. I think it is delectable, not dry grass though, only wet. It doesn’t make me sick it’s just tasty…I guess that is part of the lizard in me coming out. Everywhere I go I’m such a star and get so much love because I am just so sweet and social and beautiful. I can not wait for my forever family to get to spoil me at their house! I think it could be a full time job 🙂
Thank you so much my friends and see you soon!

3/25/2018 Update: Whew! What an amazing week! Thank you to all who came out to meet me at The Woodshed! I had so much fun although it got a bit warm and I had to leave a bit early. Frenchies and heat don’t mix. I had a wonderful time and so many people commented on how far my manners had come since the meet and greet two weeks ago. That’s because my foster mom had a week off for spring break and spent some time working with me. I’m so smart, I catch on fast! That’s right good looks AND brains! I’m the whole package. Just spend some time letting me know what is expected of me and I’m happy to do it. I am so ready to find my forever family and have a yard and furry brothers and sisters of my own to cuddle and play with. I am very happy where I am but I have so much love to give to the right home. And soooooo many snuggles! See how much I love being in the bed?!?! My foster mom says it’s the best place for pictures because I look so happy. Thank you all so much for following my adventures and I look forward to next week and all the fun it will bring! Have a great week friends!!!

3/18/2018 Update: Salutations Friends!!
This week has been a great one! My foster mom was on spring break so we got to have so much fun trying new things and spent so much time together. I know that this is exactly what I want…. Someone who is home with me a lot for playtime and naps and cuddles! I am a pro at my leash now which is good! I need to always be on one because I like to try to chase things like leaves, and squirrels and motorcycles. Foster mom told me I should never be off a leash unless I am behind a fence and she is right! I’m just too curious. Also, she has been trying for weeks to get me to lay under the covers, my foster sister does and loves it, so she wanted to give me the option. I have been far too scared to try it, but this week I did and I love it!! I sleep under my blanket every night, snuggled up to my mom and sister as close as they will let me. (Sometimes I try to lay on foster mom’s face but she doesn’t love that, so I sleep next to her…I’m doing much better about personal space) We’ve had friends come over and hang out and I get along with everyone..dogs and humans. I’m eating well and everyday I learn more about being an inside baby….and I love every second! Thank you for reading my pupdate and please come meet me and my friends at The Woodshed this weekend! Have a great week friends and see you all soon!

PS. I also learned about tug-o-war this week (best game ever) and foster mom keeps catching me watching tv….it makes her laugh!

Salutations friends!
What a fun week! I got to meet so many people at the “No Borders Bulldog Rescue” and got so much love!! Thank you all! My foster mom
couldn’t go so my foster auntie took me. We had so much fun AND I got to play with her puppies. So far I get along with all the dogs and people I come into contact with.
Everyday I learn new things and I’m so smart that I learn quickly. I just need patient people to show me. That’s right….I’m smart and beautiful too!
I’ve even learned to “sleep in” if I’m in the bed with you, snuggled as close to you as I can be. I have some puppy habits that I am still working on but day by day I do better. I can’t wait to have a yard to run off some energy but right now my foster sister and I do just fine playing together.
Thank you all for checking in and reading my pupdates!! Have a fantastic week and see you all soon!

Salutations Friends!
Serena here for my weekly pupdate. This week I learned about a heater. My foster sister and I had baths and then my foster mom turned on the heater and let us lay in front of it. It was glorious. I have discovered a new talent, unplugging all the plugs that are plugged into the wall sockets. When I get bored I just walk though the house and unplug them all. My foster mom says this is not behavior everyone will find as charming as she does so we are working on it. I love other dogs, and playtime and cuddles and being a part of a family. I can’t wait to find my forever home and show them just how precious I am. I’m doing so well on my potty training and I am a pro at walking on the leash. I do best when I know what the rules are and I get all the belly rubs and treats when I do it right. I am still learning about life in a home so I need people to be patient with me, but I am so eager to please I will do whatever I can to make my family happy. Thank you so much for following my adventures. Have a wonderful week my friends! I know I will!

2/27/2018 Update: Salutations friends! I am one happy and exhausted girl, so my foster mom snapped some snuggly, sleeping pictures. I LOVE to snuggle….All the time if you will let me. This week I went on something called a “vacation”. It’s so much fun!! I am so good in the car. I like to sleep in the backseat or (of course) cuddling with my head in you lap if possible. We stayed in a hotel and I was so good that the staff gave me all kinds of treats and love. Everyone said how beautiful I am….and they are right! I’m still working on all my manners, I am a puppy after all, but I make progress everyday. I love other dogs and I love people. I also enjoy playing outside but having a nice climate controlled place at my disposal. It’s the best of both worlds!! Time to call it a night friends. Thank you for reading my pupdate and I hope to meet you soon!

2/20/2018 Update: Salutations Friends! It’s Serena dropping in for a pupdate. This week has been so busy. Lots of naps and playtime. My foster sister and I get along GREAT. I know that for the rest of my life I want to be with other dogs. But I am also a big snuggler with my human family so I need fur siblings that will share. Between the new food and the medication that my fabulous vet prescribed to me, I’m feeling so much better and no more ticks! I’ve been working hard on my basic commands and on not chewing but I’m getting it. I pick up on most things really quickly. If you follow “good girl” with lots of rubs and treats, I get it even faster! I also have excelled at learning to sleep in. Sometimes I still make mistakes but I have perfected my “who me?” puppy face ( I have attached a picture) Who could stay mad at that!?!?! Everyday is a new adventure and I am loving every second of it. Thank you for checking in on me every week. It’s time for dinner and playtime so I gotta go! See you all soon. Love and Giant Kisses!

2/13/2018 Update: Hi Everyone! Serena here. I’m getting all settled into my new foster home and wanted to give you an update. If you came to meet me a Rahr, thank you so much. I enjoyed all the love. I love being petted and snuggling, its one of my favorite things. The other favorite is playing. I love to run and play with my foster sister and play with toys. Sometimes I play so hard I forget to tell anyone I need to go potty and I have an accident. But I am working on my potty training as well as learning some basic commands. I do love sleeping in the bed at night and have not had any accidents during that time. I’m feeling much better with my new diet and some medications and can not wait to see what this week holds since last week was so eventful. Have a great week my friends and thank you for all your love and support.

2/3/2018 Update: Please welcome Serena to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family. Serena is a 10 month old female French Bulldog that weighs 26 lbs.
Serena and her sister Venus joined No Borders Bulldog Rescue as owner surrenders. The sisters were purchased to be part of a breeding program. However, when both sisters had their first heat, it was discovered they both had a prolapsed uterus. This condition required an emergency spay for both girls. Because they were no longer able to be bred, the family decided to sell them. A guardian angel stepped in and rescued the girls and then surrendered them to NBBR to help them find their forever family.
The first thing everyone asked is “Was that their original names?” The answer is: NO. Both sisters had horrible names that neither of them knew. So, we set out to find a pair of sisters that are strong, power, beautiful and positive role models. And we decided on Venus and Serena.
In true NBBR fashion, the sisters were several hours away and required the coordination of volunteers to get them to the DFW area. This was quickly arranged with the help of a previous adopter who stepped in to help.
The first stop for Serena was the clinic. She was brought up to date on vaccinations and had a quick check-up. Serena was in tip top shape except she has an intestinal parasite and skin infection which will require a course of antibiotics.
It appears Serena is the calm sister. Serena likes to snuggle and is overall a great little girl. However, she does have some sass in her and is not afraid to tell those around her just how she thinks things should be done. Serena will be joining her permanent foster home later this week, so stay tuned for more details.
