8/5/2024 Update:
🎉 Sarge Has Been ADOPTED!!!! 🎉 Hold onto your hats, folks, because Sarge has officially found his forever home!
Sarge joined the NBBR family in quite the whirlwind—his family took him to the vet for ear issues and casually mentioned they were moving in a couple of days and couldn’t take him along. Enter the hero vet tech, who scooped up Sarge and contacted NBBR. And the rest, as they say, is bulldog history!
Sarge quickly settled into his foster home, proving himself to be the ultimate chill companion. While he wasn’t particularly interested in his doggy roommates (he’s more of a “you do you” kind of guy), he brought an abundance of laid-back charm to the household. Of course, Sarge had his share of typical bulldog health quirks—skin issues, eye troubles, allergies, alopecia, and some pesky growths on his feet. But we knew this Southern Gentleman had a perfect home waiting for him, and we were committed to finding it!
Then came the adopter who had recently lost a beloved dog. After asking all the right questions to ensure they were ready for a new furry friend, it was clear—they were ready for Sarge! Although the adoption was approved a while back, a growth on Sarge’s foot needed to be removed first. We all agreed it was best for him to have the surgery, heal up, and be fully ready for his happily ever after.
During this time, the adopter visited Sarge in the foster home and stayed in touch with the foster family. They were beyond excited and READY to welcome this lovabull Sargent McLovin into their home, patiently waiting for the big day. Now, two guys have become a family of two, ready to embark on their new adventure as a dynamic duo!
Congratulations, Sarge, and a massive thank you to his new family for giving him the loving home he deserves! 🐾❤️ #Adopted #ForeverHome #LovabullSarge #NBBRFamily
5/20/2024 Update:
Meet Sarge, our 4-year-old English Bulldog who weighs 48 pounds of pure love and charm! This wonderful companion adores being with his people, visiting children, basking in the sunshine, and enjoying a hearty breakfast. Sarge lives peacefully with other dogs, though he’s not one for play—he’s more interested in snuggling with his humans. You’ll often find him snoring contentedly under his foster parents’ feet while they work, and when the workday ends, he eagerly awaits full-contact affection on the sofa.
Sarge is a quick learner and mastered ringing the dog doorbell to go outside in just a few weeks. He sits on command and has excellent manners overall. Respectful of cats, he never harasses them.
However, Sarge does have some ongoing skin issues. His ropes, ears, toes, and eyes are prone to irritation and need regular care. He has also started to develop alopecia. These conditions are not uncommon for English Bulldogs, but Sarge is particularly susceptible. When his symptoms flare up, they require attentive management with his dedicated drawer of medications, creams, and drops. Additionally, he takes daily medications to keep everything under control.
Despite these challenges, the joy and affection Sarge brings to everyone he meets are priceless. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who thrives on snuggles and has a heart of gold, Sarge is the perfect match for you. Help us find Sarge his forever home! 🐾❤️

Situation Report:
Sarge, an English Bulldog with a heart of gold, is ready to find his forever family. At 4 years old, Sarge is a seasoned veteran who knows the ropes. He’s a master of calmness, gentle on the leash, and a perfect co-pilot in any vehicle. Sarge has shown exceptional compatibility with cats and children, proving his loyalty and adaptability.
Personality Assessment:
Sarge is a bit introverted, preferring the company of humans over his fellow canines. However, this makes him an ideal companion for households with likeminded or older dogs or those seeking a one-dog household. The Fosters continue to prepare me for my next mission. The past week has been boot camp for road trips and heavy social interactions. At first, I thought we were having another Pawty at the Foster compound. Foster mom went to the big box store and brought home way too much according to Foster Dad. Then she left with Grandpa Foster and came back with a house on wheels. Then Foster mom started loading up the rolling house with our stuff, including mine and my brothers’ blankets, bowls, leashes and food! I wasn’t worried about it, as long as I have my people, I am good. The stairs are not my friend. My Foster mom says I am a corgi bulldog. I have short little legs and ride low to the ground. The fosters were always there to help me in the rolling house, but I can get down just fine. Although I am tiny for an English bulldog, I am still 50 pounds. My forever family will have to be able to help me upstairs. After the rolling home was loaded, we were ‘East bound and down, rolling out and trucking….’ The first day we drove for a good solid nap. When I woke up, we were now living near a lake in the forest. It was very pretty, and the smells were pawesome. Me and Foster brother got lots of walks and even sat by the lake while the fosters fished. The fosters brought one of my rugs to sit on, so I always knew where I was supposed to be. (For those who don’t know – I think the floor is lava and I must have something to sit on. A blanket, a rug or even a shirt) We spent a few days relaxing by the water, having campfires and I got lots and lots of scratches. Then we were ‘on the road again’. When we stopped, we were parked at one of the Fosters children’s house! There were three other dogs, 3 cats and a toddler there! I don’t get dramatic, but I LOVE CHILDREN! The other dogs and cats are ehhh…. This doesn’t mean I am a fighter or scared I am just too dignified to stoop to the dog level. I always keep it classy and professional. After a few days the Thanking Day was over and we loaded up the rolling house, we drove down the mountain and headed west for home! After another good long nap, I woke up and found we were now living in a forest with a bunch of other Rolling houses. This time we just stayed one night, but I still enjoyed the time by the fire and the walks with the Fosters. There were a bunch of other dogs in this location. They would walk past our Rolling House and my brother would bark and bark. I would just hold my head high and not engage in dog drama. I only sound the alert when it is appropriate, not nonsense. That is all for now – We are back at the ground house, and I have lot of napping to catch up on.
💚Thankful Traveling Sarge
10/12/2023 Update:
Sarge is entirely too affectionate. He snores very loud, has gas sometimes and demands breakfast as soon as your eyes open. He walks so good on a leash you won’t even know he is there most of the time. He gets along with cats (what sort of bulldog likes cats 😊) Kids – good luck keeping him away from them. He loves them and is so gentle he will ruin your children for any future dog. He sits on command and is way too polite for a bulldog. If you want to eat a plate of nachos right next to him, go ahead, he won’t bother you at all. On car rides he sits in the seat you designate and dreamily stares out the window. When he starts with the silly bulldog play, you will not be able to focus on anything else. His nose & ears need to be cleaned every day, and guess what? He is fine with it. When his booty needs to be cleaned, that is just fine too. If you have a dog, Sarge will make your dog look like the worst dog in the world. He definitely does ours!
9/18/2023 Update:
Sarge here, checking in. You will never believe what I found out. It has taken me a few days to process the intel, and I have confirmed with multiple sources that it is true. This lady, man, and dog I live with are not my family. They are fake. I have a fake mom, dad, and brother. That is what the F stands for. Can you believe that! I couldn’t either. The fake mamma brought home this dog that was in bad shape. She told me that she wasn’t my mamma, but a FAKE mom! I did not know if I could trust what this dog was saying. So, I watched and waited. Then the fake mamma brought home another dog, this one was French. When I asked him, he confirmed that they are indeed fake. Both of those dogs are gone (don’t worry they all went to their FAKE families’ homes), and it is back to me and my fake brother. I think there is a network of Fake Families raising dogs like they are their real family! CRAZY, right! Don’t send in a squad to rescue me, the Fake Family is nice. The KP is good, the bunk & fart sack are comfortable, and I rack out pretty quick. I just really want my REAL family to find me soon. If you get intel that my family is close, tell them to fill out the application, it is online they don’t even need an Ink Stick!

8/25/2023 Update:
- I am a good boy. A really good boy.
- I am 4 years old.
- I love. kids
- I am fine with cats; I do stay away from them because they seem to be a formidable opponent.
- If the commanding officer sits, I must always sit with my back to them and touch them with the closest paw. This is nonnegotiable. This is for everyone’s safety.
- I do like to sun outside for a few minutes in the morning. If I stay longer, the commanding officer says I must come inside, as staying longer is not in the handbook. She has thankfully placed a rug for this use, to keep the hot concrete patio at bay.
- I do like my naps. It is important to catch the ZZZ’s while you can.
- Cars – I hesitate just a bit getting in the car, but once I am in, I take my assigned position and do not move until the commanding officer says we have arrived at the destination.
- Technology – I have been training on the potty doorbell, I have mastered this. I simply touch the blue circle with my nose and the officer on duty will come let me outside. This is a handy tool.
- I am so handsome it may hurt you to look at me.
- I have a crate I like, but the door stays open all night. I sleep in there, but sometimes leave for another location.
- I love everyone. I have not met a stranger I did not like; I am calm on a leash and in crowds and other situations.
- I am fine with other dogs; I do not want to play with them. I don’t want to fight them. I just want to be around MY PEOPLE.
- My skin – This is an issue. My ropes, nose, feet and ears have to be cleaned out 2 times a day every day. The staff here at foster headquarters are trying different things to help this situation. But help is not fix. Help means no infections, but this will always be a thing for me. I don’t mind it, so it’s not a big deal for me. But the staff must perform this task two times per day. No exceptions.
6/24/2023 Update:

Sarge – What is adopted?
FM – That is what it is called when you get a forever family.
Sarge – What is a forever family?

Sarge – Will someone love me even if I snore really loud?
Sarge – Will they love me if my nose gets funky and they have to clean it?
FM- Of course they will.
Sarge – Will they love on me like you and foster dad do?
Sarge – Will they walk me, brush me, take me in the car, sit on bar patios with me and play with me?
Sarge – I am so excited! A forever family sounds so perfect! When will it happen?
FM – As soon as we find the perfect home.
Sarge – What is my perfect home?
5/22/2023 Update:
I have really settled into my foster home. FM says it take dogs 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn the schedule and 3 months to settle in. Now that I am 100% settled in I can put all my focus into finding my forever home!
4/13/2023 Update:
Attention! Sarge checking in! I have a lot to catch you up on! This Foster Family has tiny humans that visit sometimes. I really like the tiny humans. Sometimes they spend the night. They call foster mom ‘Ant’ – is that weird? She doesn’t look at all like an Ant. The middle-sized tiny human may be my favorite. She cleans out my folds and ears and knows how to scratch a bulldog! It is important that might face gets cleaned every day – just look at the size of my rope! It could get funky quick! The tiny human tells me I am the best sweet boy – She calls me Sargent Cinnamon Roll. I have no idea why, but she does. She said I am so good; I got a sticker!
LoveaBull, Easygoing & Silly,
3/30/2023 Update:
Hi, I am Sarge. My foster people tell me I am an Amazing Good boy! I like it when my foster mom calls me a good, sweet boy. Sometimes when she is bending over to pet me, I dip my head, but then I remember she is a nice lady and raise it back up. When she is scratching my chin, she says it looks like I am saying ‘cheese’. Then she started calling me Mr. Sargento cuts the cheese. I am not sure why you would say cheese or cut cheese? I think I should just eat it. I learned to ‘sit’ this week for cheese. And I don’t get under the table when the Fosters are eating anymore. I lay about 10 feet away with my foster brother. After cheese, my most favorite thing is cuddling. I like to sit respectfully on the couch while my family is watching tv. I want to lay close enough to touch, or in your lap. And because I am tiny, I can fit! If someone wants to scratch me, that makes me happy too. I don’t like it when people leave, and I try to sneak away with them. My foster mom says she is going to leave me alone this week and see how I do without people or my foster brother here. We had a giant box and I thought it was the coolest thing ever! I wanted to bulldog that box and was sad when it disappeared. I met a neighbor’s cat this past week, It was upset when I came around the corner, But I was not. I just walked the other way. My Foster mom got out this loud sucking thing that confused me. I inspected it and smelled it, but I am not sure what the heck it is. All I know is that it lives in a closet.
WOW, I have had a busy week! My foster mom says I need to rest up, because I have a big event on Saturday, April 1st. Maybe I will meet my forever family?
LoveaBull, Easygoing & Silly,
Sargent

3/22/2023 Update:
Sarge Pupdate #1! Sarge has started to settle into his foster home! He was still under the influence of the love nuggets when he first arrived, so the lovin’ was intense and very arousing (if you know what I mean) for a few days. So much so FM was calling him Sarge McLovin’. The whole house is glad we are past that! His skin is looking SO much better and he has also put on a few needed pounds. Sarge loves affection! At first, he was bulldog pushy with his affection. Now that he has gotten more comfortable, he is much gentler. He is a full body close contact snuggler. He wants to sit as close as possible and lean into you or on you and will give you dirty looks if both hands are not in use. He gets along fine with other dogs and is not reactive to other dogs when on walks. He is my constant shadow, if he is sound asleep and I leave the room, he wakes and will follow me. He likes to sleep in his crate, even if you leave the door open. He has the LOUDEST snore I have ever heard. If you are on a work call, keep it muted! He is a tiny young man, and successfully jumps on the sofa about 25% of the time. He really needs a running start. He has been to the last 2 events and is wonderful in crowds. He is a great dog!
We do have a few things we are working on. 1-He is not a fan of peeing in the grass. He walks to the patio and pees. 2-He has no boundaries when it comes to people eating and cooking. He has definitely been fed people food from the table. 3-He has not ‘played’. Not with toys, his foster brother, or chase with FM & FD. 4-He rides great in the car but is a bit hesitant getting in the car.
Sarge would love to meet you at our next event on April 1st!
3/1/2023 Update:
Please welcome Sarge to No Borders Bulldog Rescue. Sarge is a 3-year-old male English Bulldog that weighs 41 pounds.
Sarge joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender through a local Veterinary office. Sarge’s family took him to the Vet’s office because he was having issues with his ears. While they were there, they mentioned that they were moving in a couple of days and couldn’t take Sarge with them. One of the Vet Tech’s decided that she would tale Sarge and try to find a Rescue to help him. She had a friend contact NBBR and the rest they say “is history.”
Once Sarge arrived at NBBR, his first stop was at the clinic to determine what would be needed. Sarge came with the “typical Bulldog stuff”: ear infections, skin infections. He also needed to be neutered and be brought up to date on his vaccinations. All of which were done before he headed to his foster home for some R&R
Since Sarge has arrived at his foster home, he has been a true southern gentleman. Sarge gets along with other dogs (has not been cat tested yet). Sarge can be a little shy when he first meets new humans, but he quickly warms up. He is good in the car (short trips) and does well in a crate if needed. However, he would prefer to right next to his people if at all possible. Stay tuned for more updates as we learn what makes Mr. Sarge tick. Until then, Sarge will be chillin’ at his foster home.
