Sarge
Sex: Male
Age: 1 yr. old
Weight: 55 lbs.
12/13/2016 Update: Sarge was ADOPTED!!!!! It is with great pleasure we announce Sarge received an early Christmas present and found his very own forever home.
It wasn’t exactly the smoothest of roads to his new forever Mom. Because Sarge is a puppy (a very energetic puppy), he has been quite popular and several families expressed interest in adopting. Sarge had his first Meet and Greet last week. The humans LOVED him. His potential fur siblings…not so much. We could go as far as to say it went terrible.
Sarge’s new Mom saw him on the website and feel in love instantly. She was crushed to learn she was not the first person to express interest in Sarge and probably would not be able to adopt him. This news, however, did not deter her in the least. Even knowing he may be adopted by someone else, she attended our latest event just to meet him. The love was even deeper when they met in person. So she held on to the slim chance that his scheduled Meet and Greet would not end with him being adopted. She wanted the best for Sarge, and her heart told her she was the family he needed.
Well guess what…. She was RIGHT. After the failed Meet and Greet, Sarge and his potential new Mom met for a quiet one on one. It was like Sarge KNEW he was home and followed her everywhere she went. What is even more exciting for Sarge is his new Mom wants a companion that has the energy to keep up with her. All we can say is it is a match made in heaven. Congratulations to both Sarge and his new Mom. Enjoy the upcoming holidays and the rest of your lives together.
/14/2016 Update: First off, we swear that Sarge is alive and well. Although based on every picture you see of him, he looks like he is dead on the couch. He is actually passed out from running and playing with his foster sister Maggie. They play so hard that they both end up passing out on the couch to rest for the next round of playing.
Sarge is a great boy. He’s doing great with house training and jumping. He has been enjoying extra Dad time this week since his foster Mom is on a mini-vacation in FL.
11/8/2016 Update: Sarge has had a busy second week. We went to the dog park on Sunday and Starbucks for a pup cup. Sarge was great at the dog park and had no issues. Tuesday he hung out with another volunteer and went to the vet.
11/3/2016 Update: Night three with Sarge. He is the sweetest pup. I think he has had some basic training but has more energy than several bulldogs combined. Sarge is all puppy. He runs everywhere, jumps higher than I knew a bully could. He found a kindred spirit in our girl Maggie. They play until they crash and then play some more.
10/31/2016 Update: Please welcome Sarge into the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family.
Sarge is a 1 year old English Bulldog that weighs approximately 55 lbs. Sarge was surrendered from his previous family due to the fact that he was too hyper and knocked over the families’ small children. After deliberating their choices, the family decided it was best for Sarge to find a new family that could handle his puppy energy.
Sarge will be going to the clinic this week to ensure that he is as healthy as he appears to be. We will know more about him as he spends time with his new foster family.
First and foremost, Sarge is a PUPPY with all the energy and excitement that an English Bulldog puppy brings with them. He loves to run, jump, and play but does have his down time too. His foster family has already discovered that he can jump on the table and he is fond of counter surfing (yeah we know, they are working on that). Sarge gets along with other dogs and humans of all sizes. He has not been exposed to any cats yet, so the jury is still out on that.
Sarge will definitely need a forever family that has the extra love and PATIENCE that is required to turn a crazy bundle of Bulldog puppy energy into a well mannered forever companion. Fear not, Sarge is a very bright boy and will respond quickly to that training. Stay tuned for more updates as we learn more about Mr. Sarge and just how fantastic this guy really is.
