3/29/2018 Update:
Rosie was ADOPTED!!!! We are so happy to announce Rosie has found her forever family.
Rosie joined the NBBR family as a twofer, so to speak. Her surrendering family decided they did not have time for Rosie, so they listed her on social media for sale. When in communication with the family, our volunteer noticed there was another Bulldog in the pictures with Rosie. So what started as a Rescue adventure to get Rosie, ended in Rosie AND her little brother finding their way into Rescue. While Rosie’s little brother was adopted a couple of months ago, Rosie posed a more “unique” challenge. While Rosie LOVES people and the attention she gets from them, when other dogs are around Rosie wants ALL the attention and does not tolerate other dogs even trying to get HER attention. Because of that, Rosie needed a family who would be happy with an only dog they could spoil.
Rosie’s forever family is just that, a family who wanted only one dog to love and spoil. Rosie’s forever Mom actually works with Rosie’s foster Mom. While at work one day, Rosie’s forever Mom overhead foster Mom talking about Rosie and how sweet she is. After looking through several pictures and talking for awhile, Rosie’s forever Mom thought Rosie might be “the one” and decided to complete the adoption application and start the approval process. During the approval process, Rosie’s family fell more and more in love with her and they hadn’t even met her yet. Once approved, they scheduled their official Meet and Greet to determine if Rosie felt the same way about them that they did about her. You guessed it… it was a fit, it was as if Rosie had picked them for herself. Rosie now has a new forever Mom, Dad and human sibling to spend the rest of her days. Congratulations to Rosie and her entire family.
3/18/2018 Update: Hey guys Rosie girl here! Fmom has been so busy she didn’t know if she was coming or going. I have still been an amazing house guest. I love all my people. Fgrandparents are here from Seattle and I just been so good and loving. Us furbabies had a sitter for a few days this week and we all did good. It was nice and sunny for a few days so I took advantage of working on my tan. Then it rained 😒. We all know I’m a princess and do not like getting my feet wet. So more inside time. Other than that not much is changed. I’m still wonderful and amazing. I love the car and do well with bath, pedicures, medicine. I just dislike other fur babies. Oh yeah and sometimes I totally forget what personal space is. My people love my kisses 💋. 💜💜 Rosie girl
2/20/2018 Update: Hey guys Rosie girl here. I’ve just been being my wonderful adorable self. Fmom says I’m just sooo cute and good. I just love being with my people. I’m just a well rounded excellent well behaved girl. Napping is one of my fave past times. My family always knows when I’m ready for bed, even when I try to fight it. The only flaw I have is I still don’t like the other dogs in the house. But again I can’t help I want ALL the attention for myself. 💜 Rosie girl
1/14/2018 Update: Rosie had an exciting week. A neighbor whose mom has loved the Bulldog came to visit. Her mom is 76 and knows a BD is a lot of work and unable to have one of her own. She has done a lot of research! They are hoping to eventually be able to attend an event so she can get more BD love! Rosie was perfectly well behaved with her manners and confirmed how cute and loving a BD can be.
1/2/2018 Update: Rosie had a good week. Pretty laid back with the holidays. She got a stuffed Christmas donut and she has been working on getting the stuffing out, but so far it’s winning! It’s been so cold we have to play inside. Rosie loves her donut almost as much as her ball! She has figured out how to get the shed open to get to her ball. Smart sweet girl! As always she is a pleasure to have. Well behaved and so loving with us humans. Still a no go with the other dogs, but hey we love her anyways. No one is perfect.
12/03/2017 Update: Rosie girl here I had a great week. Fmom got me a great present…..I’m sure most of y’all can guess….a new BALL! It’s not as great as my last one but it’ll do. I played and played and and had no desire to come in but fmom made me. She worries cause I’m chunky and breathe a little harder but I try to make her understand that’s what us chunky girls do. While I was outside I finally caught sight of a thing called a squirrel. Wow that was interesting! It ran fast up a tree and I was a little delayed in my chase but now I am on alert for them. I also started to do this thing when I have to go to my room and don’t want to, I lay on the floor and pretend like I can’t move. But I really want my treat so I’m always conflicted between my room and the treat. So then I’ll kick my back legs like I’m trying to swim or something and eventually I get up come cause that treat is so yummy. Fmom thinks it’s hilarious. I’ve got my people pretty trained. I can totally jump on the couch but sometimes I don’t want to have to do the work and I just put my front paws on it and look at them til they help me up. I might be just a little bit spoiled. My ffamily thinks its ok because I’m so good in other ways that I deserve to be a little spoiled. They know I’m a great catch even though I don’t like other dogs. They know I’m really good in other ways that a lot of dogs aren’t. 💗 Rosie girl
11/27/2017 Update: Rosie girl here! Guys let me tell you what is better than my ball…….Thanksgiving! We should have one of those everyday! I got lucky, I got to have TWO!! We had a Thanksgiving with turkey and ham (I LOVE both of these) and then we had a Friendsgiving with some brisket, LOVE it too. And let me say this girl loved all the attention and love I got at both! I was a super helper too. If something fell I was quick to help my people clean it up. They did not have to worry about any messes on the floors. I did however have a sad time. My ball got kicked over the fence and they haven’t kicked it back. Fmom figured they would have by now but nope. So I keep going to look in the shed to see if I can find it hiding somewhere. I continue to help fmom and fdad all the time. I help sniff the laundry to make sure it’s clean. I help my girl with her homework, its college stuff so I mostly provide just moral support. I tried to help my boy in the hammock but he kind of just fell out. I don’t know what was wrong with him!
11/19/2017 Update: Hey guys Rosie girl here. I’ve had laid back week. The weather is nice and fmom has been doing lots of stuff outside and I have been her sidekick. Looking forward to Thanksgiving this week hopefully they give me something delicious to eat. I LOOOOOOOVE my soccer ball. Still looking for the perfect forever home where I can be the only fur baby and have lots of love and treats! ——– ❤ Rosie girl
11/12/2017 Update: Rosie girl here! Still looking for the BEST no dog lots of love and treats home. Fmom says I’m so amazing. I had a pretty laid back week. I love playing with my soccer ball! Finally a ball big enough for me. Fdad had me running all over the backyard. I was super tired after all that. I think he forgot I’m a chunky girl and need a break. Honestly, I really didn’t want to quit but fmom said it wasn’t an option. Fmom took me to get a pedicure. I did soooo good even the guy who did my pedi was surprised. Fmom gave me a special treat at home. I got on the couch and for some reason I thought I’d like to taste it! It wasn’t anything special. Til next week guys ——– 💗Rosie girl
11/5/2017 Update: Rosie girl here. I had a wonderful week full of fun. Oh yeah and naps. FMom made me a tutu for this Halloween stuff she tried to make me a head bow but I was not a huge fan of that and she just let me wear the tutu. I was really excited when all these different looking little people came to the house and fmom would give this great smelling stuff out of a bowl. I did good when they came but I wanted to know what was in the bags they were carrying and fmom had to remind me to have manners. I did get lots of rubs from the little people and I enjoyed that. And of course they thought I was sooo cute. Which I am already well aware. Fmom let me snuggle on the couch with her at night and I snored only a little bit. Not too loud though. Fmom knows it not a good manner but again I am so cute I am able to convince her. She did start this new thing where she cleans my mouth so my breath doesn’t stink and I do good. I am not a huge fan but if it means I get to give slobbery kisses then I can handle it. Me and my boy had some outside fun we played this game where I chased a big orange thing around. Him and my girl would make me chase it. I really liked the way it tasted and tried to eat it. They called it a pumpkin. My boy also dressed me in one of his shirts cause he thought I would be cute and of course I was, even though it is a boys shirt. Me and my girl are the best of buds. I do homework and watch TV with her. She’s in charge of that stick thing that makes noise and I like to go wait somewhere it’s not. I still love when my fmom comes home from work and I get to be with her. I follow her around but sometimes its still a little early for me and Ill just sit and wait for her to come back, as long as I can see her from where I am. Sometimes I gets overly excited and I forget my not jumping manner. That’s usually when I’ve sat for a minute and no one rubs me. I think maybe they don’t see because I am so short. I am a wonderful, sweet, loving girl who wants a forever home. This one would be great but I don’t like the other fur babies and have no desire to get along with them. So I need somewhere where I can be the only baby and have all the love and treats to myself. Til next week
10/30/2017 Update: Rosie had a wonderful week. Fmom was better and we got so much time together! I got a bath and my bed was all fresh and clean. I also got a new pretty purple blanket. It’s been nice outside so I have been enjoying the nice weather. Fdad cooked outside and I got to be his helper. I kept hoping he’d let me try some but nothing came my way. Fdad taught me how to shake and makes me practice when he feeds me. Me and my boy had some fun in the kitchen playing our game. I must’ve done good cause I caught him and got some rubs. Fmom and me been having late night TV time I tend to forget I’m not a little girl and can’t be in her lap. I’m also not really supposed to be on the couch buuuut I was sitting so proper that she let me go ahead and stay for a little while. My cuteness gets her everytime. I eventually go and make my self comfortable on the bed for the other dogs in the living room. I still don’t like them. I love my people. I follow my fmom and fgirl anywhere they go when it’s us. They always need my help and I would hate for them to get lost. I still do pretty good outside in the front without the leash. There were a few times I wandered in the neighbors yard but in my defense they have all this neat stuff, one is a head and a body, in the yard and I needed to investigate. I came back though. Fmom says Halloween is coming and she’s making me something to wear. We’ll see how I look before I can promise her I’ll wear it. Remember I’m a wonderful sweet loving girl but I want to be the only furbaby around. Hopefully, my forever family is out there waiting for my wonderfulness! ❤ Rosie
10/15/2017 Update: Rosie girl is wonderful as usual. From Rosie: I love when I get to help wake up my humans. F mom didn’t realize I could jump up on the bed. So I sure did surprise her when I did! Fmom said not to do even though she thinks it cute someone else might not like it. I also figured out if I climb on the piece under the table I can be real close to my humans while they eat and I love it! Again, mom said no to get down. Always telling me no, but she says its not good manners. So I settled for just laying by her feet in case she wanted to give me something tasty. I like to go for rides in the car. I really don’t like to run outside. Mom thinks maybe it was too hot cause I like to play a little run around game in the kitchen into the living room. Especially when all my people first get home I am soooo excited to see them that I go really fast! Mom thinks it’s OK cause I calm down once I see everyone and give them kisses and loves. Other times I am a wiggle butt. My human brother tries to teach me to stay but once I can’t see him, I have to find him, I don’t want him to get lost! It’s really not my fault I’m short and can’t see over the counters. But if I can see my people I’ll stay like I’m supposed to and I’m pretty good at coming when called. There are a few things I don’t like: when they get out these stick things, one makes a loud noise and the other one mom uses it to put water on the floors. I like to just wait in the room where they aren’t. I also don’t like this thing mom uses on her hair to dry it. I wait for her in the bedroom til she’s done. Last, I still do not like my fur sisters at all! Mom wishes we could all get along but I am content with just me and my humans. I would love to find a forever home where I could be the only fur baby. I really am a wonderful girl that just wants to love, cuddle, and be cute. — ❤ Rosie girl
10/8/2017 Update: Rosie girl continues to be as sweet as she can be with all her people. She does very good with staying in sight and she is not a runner like her fur sisters when the front door is open. She enjoyed some outdoor time helping her foster mom with Halloween decorations. FMom was worried she would run off but she was wonderful. She stayed right where she was supposed to. Rosie thought she’d follow mom in the yard but decided she would just go back and wait for her to come back in the garage since it was sprinkling. Rosie girl likes to sit at foster mom feet while she cooks and hopes something tasty will fall so she can help clean it up! Rosie also knows which cabinet holds the treats so maybe if she sits nicely under it and looks up at it she’ll get one. She still has no desire to be around her fur siblings so still have to keep them separate so her best home is going to be where she is the only dog and doesn’t have to be around other dogs.
10/1/2017 Update: Rosie girl is a sweet heart. She loves to cuddle and knows she has to sit to be petted even though sometimes she forgets but is quick to remember. Rosie loves riding in the car and is so good at taking a bath. We’ve tried repeatedly at getting her and her foster sisters to get along but she has decided she’d rather be an only dog child so we have had to keep them separate. We thought maybe it was just her and our one baby girl but we now know it seems to be all dogs (except for maybe her brother who she was rescued with). The best home for her will be where she is the only dog in the house so she can get all the attention and love. She does well with older kids we haven’t had any young ones around so not sure how she would be.
9/10/2017 Update: Please welcome Rosie to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family. Rosie is a 3 year old female English Bulldog that weighs 52 lbs.
Rosie and her brother joined the NBBR family yesterday as an owner surrender. The family decided they did not have time for Rosie, so they listed her on social media for sale. When in communication with the family our volunteer noticed there was another Bulldog in the pictures with Rosie. So what started as a Rescue adventure to get Rosie, ended in Rosie AND her little brother finding their way into Rescue. Thank you to the Good Samaritans that worked with the family to get both dogs and then surrender them to rescue.
The first thing you notice about Rosie when you meet her is personality. Rosie appears to be good with everyone she meets, both humans and canines. She is currently in her foster home where she is adjusting well. She does well in the car and walks well on a leash. Rosie is a very sweet little girl.
Stay tuned for more updates on Ms. Rosie as we learn more about her and she begins a new chapter of her life and finds a forever family.
