Priscilla
Breed: English Bulldog
Sex: Female
Age: 2 yrs. old
Weight: 32 lbs.
Adoption Fee: $600.00
2/28/2025 Update:
She’s been learning to coexist with her feline foster siblings, though she occasionally gets a bit confused about their purpose – she still thinks they might be interactive toys! We’re working on appropriate cat boundaries, but her playful nature is hard to contain sometimes.
Priscilla has proven herself to be a true toy enthusiast, with balls and frisbees ranking as her absolute favorites. As you can see from the photo, she takes her ball-guarding duties very seriously! Her playful energy comes through whether she’s fetching, chewing, or simply keeping a watchful eye on her treasured blue ball.
Outdoor time is definitely a highlight of Priscilla’s day. She loves exploring the yard, feeling the grass beneath her paws, and soaking up the sunshine. However, she’s also developed quite the amusing habit – when she decides she’s had enough outdoor adventure, she makes a beeline for the door in an impressive bulldog “zoom” that never fails to make everyone laugh!
Indoors, she’s equally content, especially if it involves a comfy spot for napping or a lap to cuddle in. She’s shown herself to be adaptable, affectionate, and full of that signature bulldog charm that’s impossible to resist.
Priscilla is truly thriving in foster care and showing all the qualities that will make her an amazing forever companion for the right family!
2/8/2025 Update:
Please welcome Priscilla to the No Borders Bulldog Family. Priscilla is a female English Bulldog that is approximately 2 yrs old and weighs 32 lbs.
Priscilla, like most of the Bulldogs that find their way to Rescue, has a story. While we don’t know the complete story, here’s is what we know. During the recent cold weather/snow etc. Priscilla was brought to a local veterinarian’s office. The “lady” that found her stated she “found” her but was unwilling to provide any details. Based on the interaction between the lady and Priscilla, the staff believed that this was Priscilla’s owner. The “lady” then stated she wanted them to take her. The staff explained that they were not equipped to take in dogs that needed a new home and gave the “lady” information to several local shelters that could help her. The “lady” wasn’t happy with that answer but left with Priscilla in tow. The staff went back to their normal duties. Fast forward about 10 minutes and the staff had a customer come in telling them that there was a Bulldog running down the middle of the street (a very busy street) in front of their office. You guessed it, instead of doing the right thing and taking Priscilla someplace safe, she was dumped in the parking lot to fend for herself. Since the original story started with Priscilla being found, the staff waited a couple of days to see if anyone contacted them about a missing Bulldog. They also contacted the local shelters with the news they had an abandoned Bulldog. After several days of nothing, the Dr. reached out to us to see if we could help. Fortunately, we did have an open foster home and the rest is history. Also, like many Bulldogs that come into our Rescue, Priscilla was not “local” and required coordination to get her from point A to NBBR. Thankfully we have volunteers from all over that are willing to help an animal in need and this was no exception.
Priscilla’s first stop after joining NBBR was to the clinic to get a once over. This was only a formality as the original Vet where she was abandoned had already done a checkup and provided her with all the necessary vaccines. Not only did the Vet do all this he made a substantial donation to NBBR as well to help with Priscilla’s long-term care. We knew that she was up to date on her vaccines, and all looked good on the surface, but we still needed to do a Heartworm test and a fecal test to determine if she needed treatment for those. We received great news in that Miss P was negative for all worms and parasites. Her skin looked good, and she was given a clean bill of health. One thing we did want to have evaluated was her palate and nares. Priscilla is a heavy breather and only having limited exposure to her we were not sure if this was due to her being excited OR if she had an issue that might need surgical intervention. It appears that Priscilla is fine structurally, but the breathing does ramp up when she is excited. The good news is that when calm she is “fairly” quiet, at least in terms of Bulldog breathing. However, with that said Priscilla’s new family will need to be aware of this and be able to deal with this and be extra attentive to her when she is out and about. Priscilla did need to be spayed, so we had that taken care of as well. The only thing that Miss P will need to do, is gain a couple of pounds as she is on the skinny side (notice we said a couple of pounds, nothing drastic, but just a little).
Personality wise Priscilla is a sweet, happy little girl. It appears that she has never met a stranger be it human or canine. She has not been around any cats at this point, so the jury is still out on that one. But based on how she is with everyone else, she would probably be good with cats as well. She is currently with her new foster family adjusting to her new routine and a new foster sister. All reports have been nothing but positive. Stay tuned as we learn more about Miss P and what makes her tick.
