3/3/2018 Update:

Phoebe was ADOPTED!!!! It is with GREAT pleasure we can announce that Phoebe has found her forever family.

Phoebe joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender.  Phoebe was purchased by her previous family when she was just 8 weeks old. She joined a family that already had an older female Bulldog. All went well for the first several months until suddenly one day the two sisters started to fight. It was actually the older sister that was aggressively fighting with her younger sister.  Attempts to keep them separated meant Phoebe spent most of her time outside alone.  Phoebe quickly integrated into her foster family and loved EVERYONE she met.

Phoebe’s new forever parents started their process to become an approved family several months ago (well before Phoebe was in Rescue). Like many other families, they originally had their eye on another Bulldog.  But after serious consideration something about Phoebe was speaking to them.  As part of our process, we ask all the adopters and foster families to communicate before a Meet and Greet is scheduled.  Not only did the humans in Phoebe’s life participated in the call but Phoebe herself was an active participant in the FaceTime call.  Phoebe had to see what all the fuss was about and her Mom and Dad quickly knew Phoebe was “the one”.  That initial call last over an hour, as they just couldn’t say goodbye.  Phoebe and her new parents had an official in person Meet and Greet yesterday and it was love at first sight.  Phoebe will be an only child, which means that she will be spoiled rotten and the center of everyone’s attention.  A perfect match for Phoebe, she went from being outside by herself to the Princess of the house. Congratulations to Phoebe, Mom and Dad.

2/27/2018 Update:  Phoebe here again.  I am really fitting in to this new life of mine.  I’m paling around with my 2 new foster brothers and I met a little human the other day.  He was real cute and all I did was lick his face a few times.  He returned the love by following me around all night telling me how good of a girl I am.  There’s not too much new news, except the other day I think the Aliens were trying to abduct me again.  All I know was that I was minding my own business in my really cool living room and I heard a really loud motor noise from the other room.  Then I saw it.  I think it was their spaceship.  It had headlights and it looked like it floated above the ground a little.  My FM was there to video the whole thing just in case no one believed me.  I figured that I’m not going to let them take me again, or take anyone in my Foster Family so I went on super guard dog duty.  I barked and growled and all the other things super hero dogs do.  And guess what?  I won.  That thing went quietly back into its small room in the hall after a few minutes I did it, it was awesome!

My foster dad got a new lens for his camera thing and made me sit still for what seemed like 3 days (it was actually only 15 minutes) and took a bunch of pictures of me.  It was like I was in Paris, only I wasn’t in Paris, I was in Texas… which is better than Paris.

Anyway, have a great week everyone and I’ll write again soon.

Love Phoebe

2/20/2018 Update:

Phoebe here again.  Wow, what a week.  I think I forgot to tell you the rest of the story from when I was rescued from the aliens last week.  I met my foster parents at Rahr, and they helped get me out of the brewery party pretty quick.  I was in the lap of luxury on my ride home.  I think it was a limousine, but I thought I heard my foster dad call it like a Kia Sedona or something.  Anyway, it was really spacious for the long ride home and I’m telling my friends it was a limo.  How long of a ride you ask?  Four and a half hours long and I’m now in someplace called The Woodlands.  They sure came up with the right name for this place because that’s all I can see here, trees.  Anyway, it turns out that I have a few siblings now.  I have 2 doggie brothers, named Ace and Bruiser.  They’re Chihuahuas.  When they bark, there’s kind of an accent so I’m having a hard time understanding them.  It’s OK though.  We have everything sorted out now.  I also have some human siblings, and all I know is that they like it when I give them kisses and lay around and snore, even when I’m awake.  My medical issues have all cleared up and that embarrassing issue the alien medication gave me is all gone.  I’ve been on a few walks and met some of the local fowl at the nearby pond.  They were not too interested in meeting me, but that’s OK.

I now have my very own chair to lay in.  It rocks, literally, and it reclines and it’s really comfortable.  Can you believe it?  I sleep in it all the time, especially when someone is sitting in the chair next to me.  I try to get my head over the arm and lay on whoever sits next to me.  I think I surprised my new family because even though I am a full-figured girl, I have some hidden abilities, such as jumping up on my foster M&D’s bed in a single bound.  Boy, that was exciting!!!  I also have my own crate now and at first, I was a little leery of it, but now I actually like it.  There was also this thing that made weird noises and my FD said it was a printer, but I have no idea what a printer is so I don’t trust it.  Things are settling in and we are going day by day.  Thank you, No Borders Bulldog Rescue!!  Talk to you next week!!

Love Phoebe

2/13/2018 Update:

Hi everybody! I’m new around here.  My name is Phoebe, and I’m a Virgo, I think. I’m not really sure what that is, or means, but it sounds like totally cool.  Maybe I’m a Sagittarius. That sounds really cool too.  Anyway, I’m 15 months old and 48.6 pounds (I just got weighed today).  I have a new Foster family that had a Bulldog many years ago and it seems like they haven’t missed a step.

Now, I have to be truthful here. I don’t really know what happened to me in the last week, and I’m a little weirded out by everything.  Last thing I knew, I was with my original family, and the next thing I remember, I was in a car with a stranger heading to a new place, so now I’m a little freaked.  Then, you’ll never guess what happened. I think I was abducted by aliens, because all I know is that there were these really weird looking people with masks and needles and bright lights and stuff…. and then I blacked out, only to wake up in a cage, like they’re all experimenting on me or something.  The next day, I was finally rescued by a superhero from No Borders Bulldogs, who brought me to, of all places, a brewery. Doesn’t he know that I’m under aged? Anyway, I met my new foster mom and dad there, who got me out of there quick, before the cops came and ID’d me.  It was close.  I didn’t really like it there due to all the new things happening, all of the people there, and because of the Rock Band being so loud. I’m more of a Justin Timberlake girl, not a head banger.

To make matters worse, I had an adverse reaction to the medication the “aliens” gave me after their “experiments.”  It gave me the runs.  I heard my new foster dad say that I looked like the south end of a north bound bull.  I don’t know what that means, but it’s probably not very complimentary. How rude, as if!!  So, we went to the vet today to get my “issues” taken care of and it seems to be working.

Well, we had some glamour shots taken for my big day, and I took some selfies, and I must say, I look fabulous.  Let me know what you think; Like me on Facebook! I’ll post again next week.

2/10/2018 Update:   Please welcome Phoebe to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family. Phoebe is a 15 month old female English Bulldog that weighs 48 lbs.

Finally after much thought, the family decided it would be better for Phoebe to be surrendered to rescue and find a new forever home.

Phoebe, like all NBBR Bulldogs, made her first stop at the clinic for a check-up and any necessary medications.  We received great news that Phoebe is Heartworm negative. She is also free of any intestinal parasites. Phoebe did require surgery for a cherry eye, to be spayed and to be brought up to date on her shots and microchipped.  Both surgeries and all her vaccinations were uneventful and she left the clinic yesterday.

Phoebe is a real love bug.  On her trip back to the DFW area, she wanted to sit on her chauffer’s lap the entire time.  Phoebe also wanted to kiss her transporter the entire time.  She does get a little excited at first, but calms down quickly.   Phoebe joined her foster family yesterday and is adjusting to a new environment and routine.   Stay tuned as we learn more about Miss Phoebe as she starts her journey to find a new forever family and ultimately to become the Bulldog she was always meant to be.
