6/11/2017 Update: Pebbles was ADOPTED!!!! It is with GREAT pleasure that we are able to announce that Pebbles has found her forever family.
Flashback to six weeks ago when Pebbles was found as a stray wandering on a very busy highway. To say Pebbles was a “hot mess” is probably an understatement. She was underweight, had intestinal parasites and severe eye issues. After a course of antibiotics, surgery on her eyes, TLC and some good food, Pebbles was a new girl. She was ready to begin her search for a new forever home.
Pebbles search for a new forever home didn’t take long. She not only found her forever home, she hit the JACKPOT. To go along with her new family, Pebbles will also get a new name… Pebbles is now Zoey. She has a new Mom, Dad and fur sister. Her fur sister is much older and is not always as eager to play as Zoey is, but they have a good relationship and enjoy spending time together. Zoey will be spoiled rotten in no time. Congratulations to both Zoey and her entire family.
5/21/2017 Update: Pebbles had a great week and has gained 7lbs, she is now at 42lbs. Not bad for a growing puppy. She enjoys her walks, and is learning to walk next to her pack master (sometimes) and not to pull on the leash. She is still learning not to jump on people and to sit on command. She if full of puppy energy, but she knows when it is time for bed and will sleep all night after a short wrestling match with her fur sister. She is looking foward to making new friends at the the next NBBR event
5/14/2017 Update: Pebbles checking in again…..
I have had a very interesting week…. I took a ride in the car with my foster mom on Saturday to see a Doctor. My stitches were taken out, and my eye has healed very nicely. I am now even more beautiful! I was a very good girl in the car, but I didn’t want to get out of the car, my foster mom had to pick me up to get me out of the car. I took a nap on the way home and when I woke up we were almost home and I got a treat for being a good girl. I was ready to play with my foster fur-sister after the car ride, but she didn’t want to play, so I grabbed my toy and played with my foster mom. I also played hide and seek with the remote control of the TV with my foster mom, she didn’t find it until I laid on my pillow and the TV started changing on its own. I think I gave it away…oops.
I am still learning not to jump on my foster mom and I am starting to “sit” so they can pet me. But, when they pet me, I tend to roll over on my back for a belly rub! It happens every time; I don’t know how to stop it…. Oh well…
Until next week.
Pebbles
5/8/2017 Update: Pebbles here, I am adjusting well to my new foster home, I love my foster parents and I always want to be near them. My foster fur sister and I play until I get on her nerves, then I entertain myself with my new toys until I get tired then fall asleep near my Foster Daddy. I am 6 months old and I like to play a lot. I have made a new fur friend and he comes over to play with me almost everyday. I am learning to sit, and not jump on my foster mom and dad. I have also learned to use the dog door. I am learning to stay off the furniture and sleep in my own bed. But sometimes my fur sister let’s me sleep with her.
4/27/2017 Update: Please welcome Pebbles to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family. Pebbles is a 6 month old female English Bulldog that weighs 36 bs.
Pebbles was found as a stray in a part of town that is known for dumping dogs by a guardian Angel. Pebbles was in a very dangerous area and was almost hit by a car. Her guardian Angel jumped into action and quickly got Pebbles to safety. Unfortunately, her guardian Angel couldn’t keep due to already having several other dogs and cats and surrendered her to rescue after trying to find her owner.
Once Pebbles was safely in Rescue, her first step was a trip to the vet. We found out Pebbles has Entropian, a condition where her eyelid folds underneath and causes her eye lashes to scratch the surface of her eye causing irritation and ulcers. She also had intestinal worms and needed to be spayed. All those issues have been addressed and Pebbles in now adjusting well in her foster home.
Pebbles is ALL puppy. She is full of energy and LOVES everyone and everything she meets. She is great with other dogs and loves to play and snuggle. Currently Pebbles is still on medical hold, but more updates will be forthcoming as we learn more about Pebbles unique personality.
