9/18/2016 Update: Muffin was ADOPTED!!!! Muffin first came to our home on Sept. 6, 2016. She was our first foster dog and her first time away from the family she had come to know her entire dog life. From the first day, Muffin made herself right at home and we treated her as our own. On Sept. 18, 2016 her journey with us came to an end. Sean who has a wife, 2 children and a beautiful dog was looking to add a new member to his family and he was quickly drawn to Muffin. The process went quick, about 5 days between making contact and him meeting Muffin. From our conversations we new this family would be a good fit for sweet Muffin. The current dog they have seemed to have a lot in common with Muffin and they were genuinely excited to find a dog like Muffin that demanded to be loved and pampered. After meeting Sean and his dog Titan and seeing how well Muffin hit it off with them we knew it was a PERFECT MATCH and they adopted Muffin. The sadness quickly set in having to lose Muffin so quickly. Even after a short time we grew attached. But that night Sean sent us a video of Muffin interacting with her new family and it showed how happy she was and the love they were showing her. We quickly realized the whole purpose of fostering and the goal we set out for was reached and Muffin now has her PERFECT HOME!
9/11/2016 Update: Ruff, Ruff, Muffin here or “Muff” as my foster family calls me. This week has been full of dog happiness. I tried my best to hide my personality (just a little) but this family just brought it out. Don’t let my size fool you I may be big but my new favorite thing to do is play fetch, watch football, I love to go out and get fresh air, I don’t walk far..after all I’m a full figured woman, but I love trying”and I love chasing my foster sisters around, yes I’m kind of a BIG DEAL. I do however have my lazy moments….. Well a lot of lazy moments and bed for me is anywhere comfy, Crates don’t work for me. I prefer the couch or some huge comfy bed that my foster mom shakes her head no to for some reason but I still make my way up and take up the whole middle section of the bed. My foster mom said something about me and my foster dad snoring up a storm but she’s just making that up. “Girls don’t snore.” 😜 Also not my greatest quality but I do like to hide under the table during lunch and dinner time because I just know my youngest foster sister will feed me food and if not I’ll just stand there and beg for it. Hey we all have to eat after all! Give me a break I’m working on it. Finally anywhere my foster family goes I MUST GO. That’s right I have my own little seat in the car. Like I said earlier, I’m kind of a big deal!
9/8/2016 Update: Please welcome Muffin to the NBBR rescue family.
Muffin is a 3 year old female Bulldog that LOVES everyone she meets. We don’t believe Muffin has ever met a stranger. She loves kids, get along with other dogs and even likes…CATS. Muffin is a well taken care of owner surrender. Due to major changes in her family’s life , it became impossible for her them to continue to care for Muffin. Because of these changes, Muffin was spending long periods of time by herself in a crate. The very difficult decision was made to surrender her to NBBR, but her owner knew it was in the best interest of Muffin.
The first thing you notice about Muffin (besides her great personality) is Muffin may be short for “Muffin Top”. Muffin is a little on the “curvy” side and but with the help of her foster mom and foster sisters she will be working on shedding a few pounds. This shouldn’t be too much of a problem since Muffin’s exercise level should increase dramatic as she will be chasing her foster sisters around the house. Besides an occasional snack or two, Muffin LOVES to ride in the car. Muffin also LOVES giving kisses, which comes in very handy since she now has several human foster sisters to shower with bulldog kisses. Muffin immediately was the hit of the house when she met her new foster family.
Muffin will be going to the clinic tomorrow for a quick check-up to ensure she is in tip top shape as she begins her journey to find her new forever family. Judging by her beauty and bubbly personality, Miss Muffin shouldn’t have any problems finding the perfect family to spoil her rotten.
