6/3/2018 Update:

Moses was ADOPTED!!!!  Moses has found his forever family and joined the ranks of NBBR alumnae

Moses joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender.  Moses’ family originally contacted NBBR earlier in the year and wanted to surrender him then, however, they ultimately decided it wasn’t the right time.   When they then had two surgeries for family members, they decided it would be best if Moses were able to find a new forever home. En route to his new foster home, Moses made a quick stop at the clinic to get a check up.  Moses was a hot mess when he first joined NBBR. To start, Moses needed to be brought up to date on his vaccines. In addition, Moses had eye, ear and skin infections that all required treatment.  In addition to all the infections it was determined Moses is VERY allergic to chicken. (After what was supposed to be a special dinner of grilled chicken breast, Moses broke out in red bumps all over his body.)  Placing Moses on a high quality food cleared his allergies and skin issues. He now has the softest fur of any Bulldog you will meet.

Moses’ forever family was approved to be an adoptive family several months ago, however they had one small thing that made matching them to a Bulldog more difficult:  a cat. Now don’t get us wrong, cats are wonderful, but they can make finding the right Bulldog more difficult.  Most of our foster families do not have cats AND many Bulldogs (like most dogs) aren’t the most fond of cats.  We at NBBR want to only place a Bulldog with a family with a cat IF the Bulldog is 150% good with cats.  Luckily for everyone involved, Moses is just that guy. He doesn’t even give the cat a second thought, he has more important things to do like getting belly and butt rubs. Moses will be the only Bulldog in his home so he will definitely be spoiled rotten with all the attention he will be receiving.  With the recent “heat wave” we are having, his forever family was worried about transporting him home in the heat of the day.   They agreed it would be best to drive early in the morning to avoid the heat.  This meant they came to Dallas the night before and stayed in a hotel so they could pick Moses up first thing in the morning.  That is dedication and Moses is going to be one happy boy.  Congratulations to Moses and his new Mom, Dad (dad had to work and couldn’t make the adoption) and feline sibling.

5/20/2018 Update:

Moses here, been a slow couple of weeks waiting on my forever family to find me. I’ve just been chilling and playing with my foster sister (while my foster brother rolls his eyes at us).

I am still very loving and ALL of my hair has grown back and I still hear how handsome I am all the time. I am learning that I don’t always have to be “on the go” and can chill out and relax on the couch!!!

Those furry little creature they call cats still elude me, but I don’t really care about them, they don’t bother me one bit. My mom realized that for 2 days I wouldn’t come in the bedroom and finally she figured out it was because I was scared of the ironing board!! Once she put that up, I came running in to try and see what I had missed in there the last couple of days….Dad to report nothing new….I just knew I was missing out on something.

If you think you would like to be my forever family, get on over to the web page and get that application filled out…..I’ll be waiting for you!

4/16/2018 UpdateMoses here, I’ve been a very busy boy since I came into foster. I LOVE my new life, who knew having a foster brother and sister could be this exhausting. I LOVE to play with people, kids, cats and especially my foster sister Maddie.

When I first came to NBBR, I stopped off to see Dr H, who gave me all these pills to take. I like him and his staff and like to visit them, but I don’t like to take these pills, but my foster mom says it will make me better.

My foster parents quickly figured out that I am allergic to grain and chicken and that’s what makes me break out. After they figured that stuff out and changed my food, my skin got better almost immediately. My hair has grown back and they tell me all the time I’m a handsome boy!!! I love to cuddle and sit with people, it makes me feel special. I also
like to follow my foster parents everywhere they go, I’m afraid I’m going to miss something important. Oh and I love to get a bath, they were impressed that I just sit there and get all pretty again with each bath.

I will be off medical hold soon, and I am hoping to meet my forever family. One that will have time to play and show me the love that I deserve! If you are interested in adopting me, head on over to the website and get that application filled out!!

Til next time, much love & treats,
🐾Moses🐾

3/31/2018 Update:

Please welcome Moses to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family. Moses is a 2 year old male English Bulldog that weighs 54 lbs.

Moses joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender.  Moses’ family originally contacted NBBR in November and wanted to surrender him then, however, they ultimately decided it wasn’t the right time.   Now with two surgeries looming for family members, they decided it would be best if Moses were able to find a new forever home.

En route to his new foster home, Moses made a quick stop at the clinic to get a check up.  The good news is Moses is Heartworm negative. The rest, well, you could say Moses is a hot mess. To start, Moses needed to be brought up to date on his vaccines. In addition, Moses does have eye, ear and skin infections that will all require antibiotics.  While his skin infection may be due to a combination of things, he will require antibiotics because he has both bacterial and staph infections.  He may have some allergies as well and we will be changing him to a grain free diet to see if that helps.

After spending the evening at the clinic, Moses was sprung this morning and headed immediately to a photoshoot. The pictures don’t lie, Moses is one handsome young Bulldog.  He also has a great personality. While at the clinic today he had the opportunity to interact with several other dogs (Bulldogs and non-Bulldogs alike), he got along with each and every one of them.  Moses appears to be the complete Bulldog package.  While everyone else is celebrating the Easter/Passover holiday, he will be settling into his new foster home.

Moses has decided he would like the Easter Bunny to bring him a forever family (and a bag of treats wouldn’t be bad, either…and maybe a nice soft bed of his own). While we know it is too late for the Easter Bunny to make the forever home happen by tomorrow, we have no doubt good things are on the horizon for Mr. Moses. Stay tuned as we learn more about him.
