Nelson has been ADOPTED!!! No one is more thankful this day-after Thanksgiving than Nelson who has found his forever family.
Nelson (names have been changed to protect the innocent) joined NBBR as another Covid-19 casualty. Nelson joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender. His previous family purchased him during the “lockdown” but once things started to return to normal, they decided that they did not have enough time for Nelson. They called NBBR and stated that he needed to be surrendered immediately. Fortunately for all involved, we had an appropriate foster home for Nelson and he was surrendered the next day. After his “welcome to Rescue” appointment at the clinic, the only thing that needed to be addressed was his neutering. He was up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick treatments. Nelson was scheduled for his neuter the next day (all went well) and then was ready to join his foster family. Nelson is a typical English Bulldog puppy. He is all wiggles when he meets someone new. Literally, he is wiggling from head to toe, even parts that are not supposed to be wiggling are moving. As expected, Nelson has a very playful personality. While at his foster family Nelson worked on his charm and his inside manners. As mentioned, Nelson is a ball of Bulldog energy. He is also a climber. Nelson will climb on EVERYTHING.
While Nelson was working on manners, a family that had never had a Bulldog before applied to NBBR. This family had rescued other breeds before but had never owned a Bulldog. They knew that they had a lot to learn but were very open and wanted the NBBR volunteers to help them through this life changing journey. So, they embarked on the “gauntlet”. After passing a vet check, interviews and a home visit, they were down to the matching process. They had purposely not looked at the website during the process because they didn’t want to be disappointed if that Bulldog wasn’t available or wasn’t a fit for them. After much discussion with foster families, adoption coordinators and themselves, they narrowed the list down to 2. A meet and greet was scheduled with both of the finalists to see which (if either) would have that “special connection”. While both meetings went well, it was apparent that Nelson was “the one”. Nelson poured on the charm like none other. Either though it was pretty obvious that Nelson had one the role of new family member, his future forever family still wanted to discuss both finalists. After a few days, they called and asked if they could be allowed to call Nelson theirs??? Obviously, everyone knows the answer.
While everyone knew this was where Nelson belonged, it was Nelson himself that sealed the deal. While signing the adoption contract at the park, Nelson decided that HE needed to inspect the paperwork as well. He climbed up on the picnic table and planted himself right in the middle of the action. The paperwork was signed with his parents signatures AND his paw print/butt print (We are not sure which as he was all over the place). This obviously was a first for NBBR- Nelson is nothing but unique. His new parents are both so excited to welcome Mr. N into their home and hearts. So what better way to top off the Thanksgiving week, than getting a new family/family member. We at NBBR are so thankful to everyone involved, our volunteers, fosters, and adopters. Each of you hold a very special place in the life of this little Bulldog and for that we know Nelson is VERY thankful.

Howdy Y’all! Nelson reporting from my new foster home! My first week has been absolutely amazing! Within a few hours I was completely settled in comfortably at my new home & enjoying my new foster sisters. Y’all may remember “Silly Millie”???!! Well now I get to live in the same home as her!π Also former NBBR foster Macieπ₯°!!! Millie & I bonded instantly & FM & FD call us team Millie-Nelson, after the famous Willie NelsonπΎπ. I sure would love to charm my way into someone else’s heart as well! I’m a super sweet boy & am very responsive to commands….you don’t have to tell me twice, I aim to please!!! I do really well with other dogs, however no worries if there’s no furry playmate, I’m also good at snuggling. I just need to be in a loving home where I’m out of my crate more than I’m in it! I LOVE outdoor playtime, but I’m also good at snuggling on the couch & snoring sweet nothings into your earπ₯°πΎ Do you think I would be the perfect fit for your family? Please contact NBBR & let’s set up a meet & greet! I promise It will be love at first sight!π₯°πΎ
Bully Love,
Nelson π

Please welcome Nelson to No Borders Bulldog Rescue. Nelson is a 9 month old male English Bulldog that weighs approximately 40 lbs.
Nelson (names have been changed to protect the innocent) appears to be yet another Covid-19 casualty. Nelson joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender. Nelson is a typical English Bulldog puppy. He is all wiggles when he meets someone new. Literally, he is wiggling from head to toe, even parts that are not supposed to be wiggling are moving. As expected, Nelson has a very playful personality. He appears to like everyone that he meets (both human and canine). Nelson has only been in his foster home a couple of days but is settling in nicely. His foster home has two Bulldogs already AND they are both girls-so Nelson is gong to be the “little prince” but will definitely have to learn his way around “siblings” Stay tuned as we learn more about Mr. N and what makes him tick.
