6/5/2017 Update: Magoo was ADOPTED!!!! It is with great pleasure that we announce that Magoo has found his new forever family.
Magoo that has been in Rescue for four months can be somewhat nervous/shy when he meets new people. But that was not the case when he met his new forever Dad. Magoo immediately went to him and want to play. This was a HUGE relief for his new Dad, since he had been an nervous wreck all day hoping that Magoo would approve. Prior to the official Meet and Greet, his new Dad had already went on a shopping spree to get everything Magoo could possibly want (a new collar, leash, toys and a blanket just to name a few items). Magoo’s Dad thought of everything, he even brought a friend to drive to the Meet and Greet so that he could bond even more on the way home.
Magoo’s story is what Rescue is all about. From being found as a stray that no one wanted, to the apple of his Dad’s eye. Magoo will no doubt be spoiled rotten. He will be showered with LOVE and attention. He will even get to go to work with his Dad to spend as much time with him as possible. Congratulation to Magoo and his new Dad: a match made in heaven.
5/29/2017 Update: Magoo is doing great. He loves the outdoors and likes to think he’s a big boy but really he’s short and stout. He’s great with other people but he still gets timid around unfamiliar faces. After awhile he will let loose after warming up to them. Magoo likes everyone and everything except for our washer. Oh boy he hates the washer. He will sit and bark while the washer is running. That’s how I know I forgot to close the washroom door.
4/24/2017 Update: Magoo here. I recently got a new foster brother and we’ve been doing a lot of hanging out. I’ve been teaching him the ropes around here. With that being said I look good and feel good. This little guy keeps me on my paws. I was a hyper little thing until a puppy came in my life and I realized I needed to be gentle.
On a side note I really enjoy my back rubs
4/10/2017 Update:
Magoo had a fun filled weekend. Friday we took him to a dog park and he made a few dog friends (which he loved), on Saturday he went to the NBBR event and on Sunday spent the day outside with his foster sisters. It’s always fun having this guy around, it’s never a dull moment! And if you can’t tell by the pics his tongue 👅 always always makes an appearance!
3/25/2017 Update: Magoo has been here for a good two days and has already stole our hearts. This guy has so much energy but also has his chill moments and is the sweetest thing ever. He is great with other dogs, cats and children of all ages. Magoo likes to play fetch but still doesn’t understand the bring the ball back part. He does get a little excited and starts humping but we’re working on that with him. He is gentle with the kiddos and allows my 2 year old to take him for walks. He sure is a gem!
3/23/2017 Update: Please welcome Magoo to the NBBR family. Magoo is a 4 year old Bulldog weighing in at only 40 lbs.
Magoo was found as a stray and allegedly sprayed with pepper spray prior to animal control arriving to take him to the shelter. Thankfully, the shelter vet determined his breathing was normal when he arrived and no emergency care was needed Magoo does have double cherry eye and it was thought perhaps the pepper spray irritated it more. Magoo was placed on “rescue only” hold should he not be claimed by an owner. Several days passed and nobody came for Magoo. Our volunteers went into action to release him from the shelter and take him immediately to our vet.
Magoo is currently at our vet for a complete examination. He will have cherry eye surgery and be neutered while under anesthesia. Thankfully he has tested negative for heart worms. However, Magoo has a severe bacterial infection that is currently wreaking havoc on his intestinal system, Due to this, Magoo is being treated with antibiotics and an antidiarrheal.
After his surgeries, Magoo will be heading to his foster home where he will be further evaluated and shown the love and care every dog deserves.
Stay tuned for updates on Magoo as we learn more about this adorable little guy.
