11/7/2017 Update:
Lucy was ADOPTED!!!!!! It is with the greatest pleasure we announce Ms. Lucy has found her forever family.
Lucy joined the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family several months ago as an owner surrender when her previous family decided she no longer fit in with their family dynamic. With the addition of a new baby and other challenges, the family decided it would be better for everyone if Lucy found a new family.
Lucy has the distinction of being the first No Borders Bulldog Rescue to FLY to her new home. Not only did she fly home, she flew FIRST CLASS (as all Bulldogs should). Both Lucy’s new parents work for the airline and they have flying privileges. This story starts several weeks ago when Lucy’s parents were approved to adopt and narrowed down their search to two possible Bulldogs. They flew to Dallas to meet both Bulldog ladies. While they loved both of the Bulldogs they met, something immediately told them Lucy was “the one”. So they did what every good adoptive family does, and they went home to think over their decision, but they already KNEW.
Lucy’s Mom quickly looked at her schedule and decided November 7 would be the day she and Lucy flew back to her new forever home. Forever Dad had to stay at home and hold down the fort for the arrival of their new little Princess.
It was like Lucy had been flying forever. She was so happy to give everyone she met kisses and had a great flight back to her home. And to make things even better, November 7th was Lucy’s Mom’s Birthday. What better gift than bringing home your newest family member for your birthday?? Lucy is now the center of both her new parents’ attention. She will be sooooo spoiled (they are already working on a Puppy Passport so Lucy can fly with them). From unwanted to pampered princess, Lucy is another Rescue success story. Congratulations to Lucy and her new family.
9/30/2017 Update: Please welcome Lucy to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family. Lucy is a 16 month old female English Bulldog that weighs 39 lbs.
Lucy joined the NBBR family today as an owner surrender. Lucy was purchased from a local breeder approximately a year ago. During this same timeframe they added a new human baby to their midst as well. This all added up to A LOT of change. After trying for several months they came to the conclusion they did not have enough time to dedicate to Lucy and it would be best if she were able to find a new forever home. So, the family made the very difficult call to NBBR to see if we could help.
Lucy is a very energetic Bulldog “puppy”. Even though she is 16 months old, she has yet to settle in to her calm self. Lucy loves to run, play and occasionally jump on those around her. All of that energy is equaled by a HUGE amount of love. This little girl wants nothing more than attention from her humans. She loves to give kisses (as she did in the car after she was picked up from her previous family), rest her head on your leg, hand, arm….. well any body part she can find.
Lucy was a very well cared for and loved puppy. She made a quick stop at the clinic today and got a complete clean bill of health. She then went on a Home Visit with an NBBR volunteer for a potential adopter. We are still in the process of determining her true personality. While at the clinic she saw other dogs and was very well behaved. On the Home Visit she did show a little ‘tude towards the owner’s dog. We aren’t sure if she was just stressed out, or she is selective to those canines she allows to be in her presence. We will update more as we learn those details. Currently Lucy is relaxing with her new foster family. Stay tuned for more on Ms. Lucy as she starts the next chapter in her journey to find a new forever family.
