8/15/2020 Update:

Lacy was ADOPTED!!!!   Miss Lacy’s happily ever after has become a reality.

Lacy joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender. Lacy and her previous family found themselves in a situation where the 7 of them were going to have to downsize into an RV. They knew that there wasn’t enough room for an energetic little pup like Ms. Lacy.  So, the family made the difficult decision to try to find Lacy a home that would be better suited for her. They called NBBR and asked if we would help.  (You know the answer)…… Lacy was very well taken care of and exited the clinic without issue. Vaccines (check),  Heartworm Negative (check), spayed (check), micro-chip (check)… a complete clean bill of health. Lacy did enter NBBR care with some pre-existing conditions that she was being treated for. She has some allergies that require daily medication, which will be continued.  All in all, Lacy is the Rescue unicorn health-wise.  Yes she is a Bulldog with Bulldog issues, but pretty low maintenance for a Bulldog.  While at her foster home Miss Lacy got along with most everyone BUT she was not a fan of the resident Queen Bee, and the feeling was mutual. Based on this interaction, it was determined that a family where Lacy could be the center of attention would be ideal and so the journey began.

Lacy’s forever parents previously had a Bulldog so they knew the “unique” experience that they were beginning with. While going through the process they expressed interest in several Bulldogs (none where Lacy).   Actually her forever family wanted ALL the Bulldogs, while that is a GREAT plan on paper, those of us with multiple Bulldogs know it takes a special level of insanity to deal with multiple Bulldogs. After the approval process was completed,  the fun started:  Meet and Greets. Since Lacy’s future parents were from out of town, they wanted to meet several so they could see the differences in personalities.   They drove into town and met with 4 different Bulldogs.  (After doing this for awhile, you kinda get the knack which Bulldog a family is leaning towards).  The goal for NBBR during this process is to observe and see which Bulldog picks the family AND then to focus the family on picking with their heart.  Some families are open to this process and some aren’t.  Lacy’s future parents where most definitely open and in fact they were not leaning towards Lacy in the beginning.   However, after meeting her and seeing the bond that was clearly there, they listened to their hearts and Lacy got a new family.  Lacy hit the jackpot, not only is she the only fur child to get ALL the attention, she arrived home to a HUGE basket of toys. (Mom may have done some pre-adoption shopping for her new baby).  We are so happy for the entire family and know that this is just the beginning of their happily ever after.

7/14/2020 Update:

Lacy here,

Wow! Texas turned up the thermostat and I DO NOT like it! Foster mom only lets us go out long enough to potty and after the sun goes down we get to run and play in the yard.

We had a party last week and my foster family made a lot of noise with these things called fireworks. Foster mom said I was a good girl around all the people and I wasn’t even bothered by the loud noise the fireworks made. That’s probably because I was focused on all the food everyone had!

Have a good week!

Love,
Lacy

5/30/2020 Update:

Good morning,

One of my all time favorite things is to play tug of war with my foster brother.  We play it all the time! I really love having a FB that has as much energy as I do. We have the best time together, as long as my older foster sister is not around. I really do not like her! I hope my forever home is just me and a cool younger brother like my FB that I can play and snuggle with when we get tired. I also don’t mind if my forever family has cats. There are two here with my foster family and at first I wasn’t sure what they were but after a few sniffs and a little chasing they seem ok. I even let them rub up on me when they need some loving.

FM says she knows my forever family is out there and that they are going to be a perfect match because No Borders Bulldog Rescue is the best!

Well gotta go, have a great weekend!

Patiently waiting for my forever family,
Lacy

5/11/2020 Update:

Hey Facebook friends,
The days seem to run together here but my foster brother and I are making the best of this quarantine time. FM says we are a little out of control at times but we make her laugh. We love showing her all of our new tricks like walking on the back of the couch like the cats do. I think we scared FM because she came running when she thought we were about to fall. Pssh!! I showed her I got cat like skills!

Well gotta go, hope you have an exciting week. Looking forward to meeting my forever family so I can make them laugh as much as I do FM.

Love,
Lacy

4/29/2020 Update:

Lacy here,
I have had such a fun week!  First, FM took Dozer and I on a walk this week through the neighborhood.  It was sooooo exciting!! There were so many new smells, sounds and things to see.  When we got tired FD came and picked us up in his cool ATV and we got to ride in it home.  I loved having the wind blow in my face.  FM didn’t come with us though, she said she would walk home,  she wasn’t as hot as Dozer and I.
Then, later in the week FM brought home this big purple watering bowl. At first I thought she got the Rona and had gone crazy.  I mean I know we drink a lot of water but this thing is a bit excessive! When she filled it up she threw our balls in it and let us stand and play in it.  Dozer and I had so much fun we slept until dinner time.  FM is always coming in with the best toys!
Well that was my week!
Hope you all had a great week too!
Love,
Lacy

4/20/2020 Update:

Lacy here,
Foster dad took me and my bulldog foster brother on a car ride to get out of the house.  I loved looking out the window and letting the air blow in my face.  When we went through this place called a drive thru the nice girl in the window gave me lots of lovins.  Foster dad said my FB and I cannot go on long car rides because we will turn the truck into a gas chamber, I’m still not sure what that is.

Now that the weather is nice, I am playing outside more, and FM insists I get a bath once a week.  I think this quarantine thing is causing her to become a bit crazy; but she feeds me, gives me belly rubs and lets me have “cookies” so I have decided to just go with it.

FM and I have been doing a lot of talking and she says I am going to be a GREAT friend and cuddler to my next forever family.  I can’t wait to meet them; it would also be awesome if they had another younger male bulldog like my foster brother that I could play with.  We have so much fun playing keep away and tug-a-war with our toys.

Well FM says its time for dinner, gotta go!  Have a nice week!

Love,

Lacy

4/6/2020 Update:

Man it has been a fun week! I am absolutely loving getting to play with my foster siblings! We have had so much fun running around, playing keep away, and chasing each other around the yard. We even got a big box delivered to the house with all new toys! So many new squeakers and chew toys! I absolutely LOVE the new chew toys.

My foster mom gave me a bath in the big white bath tub on Monday. I would have to say that wasn’t my favorite part of the week, but I felt so much better afterwards! FM says it’s really important to keep me clean especially when I’ve been running around outside a lot because of my allergies. I think I can deal with the baths as long as I get to explore and run around with my foster siblings.

I’ve been working really hard on my manners and have settled into the schedule around here well. I’m always happy to do tricks for treats! I’ve gotten better about not trying to sneak my siblings food. The boys and I have become great friends, and I am still working on building a stronger friendship with my foster sister.

3/29/2020 Update:

Hello, everyone! It’s been a very exciting week for me getting to know my foster family. I was especially happy when I met my bulldog puppy foster brother! We’ve become great friends running around the house playing with our toys and chasing each other through the yard. My foster mom says we’re pretty much attached at the hip, and she can always hear the two of us following her around the house. My other foster siblings are much bigger than me (German Shepherd, Shepherd mix, and Boxer), and I was a little weary of them in the beginning. I eventually warmed up to my other foster brothers, but my Boxer foster sister and I are on tentative terms. Our alpha female personalities can clash a bit at times.

For the most part though, we all get along great and spend our days exploring the yard, playing in the house, and resting together when we get tired. I absolutely love to chew on my toys and can spend hours chewing on my Benebone. Foster mom is working with me on being polite and patient with the other dogs as well as improving my table manners since I like to scarf down my food and try to steal from my siblings.

Overall, I’d say I’m a very happy, young Bulldog who loves attention, playing with others, chewing on my toys, and running around outside. I just can’t wait to find my forever family!

3/21//2020 Update:

Please welcome Lacy to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.   Lacy is an English Bulldog female that weighs 47 lbs.

Lacy joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender.

Lacy appears to be a happy little girl. She saw a couple of other dogs at the clinic and didn’t seem to be to bothered.  She quickly became everyone’s favorite at the clinic… be she is “soooo cute”.   From the clinic, Lacy met her foster family and began the settling in process. All has been going “relatively” well.   Her foster family did report that while she appears to do well with most of her foster siblings, she has no problems putting everyone in their perceived places.   There all seem to be “settling into the pack” issues and her foster family is working with Lacy on her manners.   We are sure that they will have her on her very best behavior in no time. Stay tuned as Lacy starts her journey to find her forever family.  We know that perfect family is out there and so does Lacy.
