1/2/2024 Update:

Hello Friends!   We know I love to run and play with other dogs, but this week my foster family got to spend some alone time with me to see what I would be like if I were your only fuzzy baby.  I am still every bit of a bulldog just a little calmer when there aren’t other doggos to boss around.   I do best when at least one of my humans sets some strong boundaries.  I do accept correction well and time out works best.  My foster family wants me to continue to like my crate so I do not go in there for punishment ever.   If I get too rowdy, they just put me on a leash with them to remind me that I don’t set the rules.  I want all the love and attention and I do take medications really well.   I still do a great job of pottying outside and my foster family can leave water down for me now, I know enough to stop trying to drink it all at once and make myself sick.   I know how to “sit” and “down” and I also will crate up as soon as foster mom opens the treat jar…they don’t even have to ask me.  I like to explore the yard and the house but mostly I just want to be with my people.  I am such a good boy and would love to have my forever home with a family who will spoil and love me but also teach me the rules so I can be an active part of the family!

Reminder about me: I am every bit of a bulldog personality.  I love to eat, play with toys, and nap HARD.  I have a foster brother that I play with almost constantly and my foster mom is working with me to learn how to self-regulate when I need a break.  Playing is just too much fun.  When I do stop, I take excellent naps and have the cutest snore ( at least, my foster family thinks so).   I love to play with toys and other dogs but I am still a puppy (only a year and a half) so sometimes get toys and shoes confused and like to chew.  Because I am a bulldog I can be a little rough with my puppy chewing but if tell me “No Sir” and then give me a toy to chew on I redirect easily. My foster family calls me “Sir” and I like that.  I really enjoy being in the family and involved with what is happening so if there is a bed for me to lay on wherever you are, I am happy.  I don’t have accidents in the house, I can sit on command (always when there are treats involved and sometimes without treats).  I “crate up” easily and love to have a treat when I do and a toy to play with if I need to be created.  I eat allllll the food you put in front of me and will sometimes drink too much water too fast (foster mom is working on this but regulating the water bowl so I don’t make myself sick). I will gently paw at you if I need you to pet me some more.  I got so many toys for Christmas because I am such a good boy!   If you have been looking for a young bulldog with good energy, solid cuddles, and has already had any health issues addressed (I am neutered and had surgery to rectify my cherry eyes), foster mom says you would be a fool not to adopt me.

Ok, time to go play!

Snuggles, Snorts, and Sloppy Kisses!

12/27/2023 Update:

Hello Friends!

Sorry, I’ve been out of sight for a minute!  Kevin here!  Due to no fault of my own, I am at a new foster home and wanted to send y’all a pupdate.

I am every bit of a bulldog personality. 11/20/2023 Update:

Kevin has had the best time exploring his new foster home! He was extra curious about the Christmas decorations and quickly learned that the ornaments are not chew toys. While his foster mom works from home, he enjoys laying out on the patio or figuring out his puzzle toys for extra treats!
He has gotten used to receiving his medicated eyedrops three times a day and is scheduled to have surgery on his cherry-eyes on November 30th. We are looking forward to helping him see better and make a full recovery!
11/6/2023 Update:
Kevin is the sweetest little chunk and he has been settling in nicely at his foster home! He loves to play with his toys, keep an eye on what everyone else is doing, and take lots of naps. He loves the dog park and enjoys laying on the tile or the patio while his foster parents work on the computer. We are working on getting him used to his eye drops because he gets a little annoyed and nippy when it’s time to put the drops in.
He does get a little cranky in the evening and he seems to think that the hands petting him might make good chew toys, so we are working on cuddling without trying to nibble on hands. When he naps and goes to bed, he snores like an old man so he is definitely sleeping very deeply after long days of playing!

10/31/2023 Update:

Please welcome Kevin to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Kevin is a 1.5 yr. old male English Bulldog that weighs approximately 55 lbs.

Kevin joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender.  The family recently moved to Texas.  With the move and significant changes in their work schedules they determined that they did not have enough time for Kevin.  They decided it would be best for all involved to let Kevin find a new forever home.  Kevin, like many of the bulldogs that come to NBBR, was out of the DFW area.   It took a little coordination, but our volunteers made it happen.

The first stop Kevin made was to the clinic to get the “basics”: vaccines, heartworm test, intestinal parasite testing and a microchip.  All that went well.  But on top of those items, Kevin will need to be neutered and have some work done on his eyes.   He had an appointment with the Ophthalmologist, and he currently has cherry eye in both eyes and a bacterial infection causing some inflammation.  The Ophthalmologist thinks Kevin may have entropion as well but cannot confirm that until the infection/inflammation has been treated.  Kevin is currently on antibiotics and medicated eye drops.  He has a follow up Ophthalmology appointment in two weeks to determine what is next.   He is also on the schedule to be neutered.

Kevin can be a little shy at first and gets a little stressed.  He is on the “heavier breathing” side of the Bulldog spectrum.  All in all, he is a calm guy and quickly became everyone’s favorite at both clinics he visited.   One thing we did notice is that like many bulldogs, Kevin is a big-time chewer.  It appears that Kevin likes everyone he meets.  He was raised with kids and does well with them.   He did very well on his car rides to the DFW area and to both the clinics.   He has not been cat tested yet, so we have no idea what he will do.   Kevin has been with his foster family for a couple of days, and all is going well.  He will be chilling and learning the lay of the land in his new surroundings while he awaits his next appointments. Stay tuned for more updates as well learn more about Mr. K and what makes him tick.
