11/16/2018 Update:

Hudson was ADOPTED!!!!   It is with great pleasure we are able to announce Hudson has found his forever family.

Hudson joined NBBR as an owner surrender. Although Hudson was only 9 months old, he had already hit a couple of bumps in the road on his journey.  Originally Hudson was purchased from a breeder at 8 weeks old. All went well until his owner had a change in employment.  This change meant Hudson was spending too much time in a crate and by himself.  Not knowing what to do, his owner contacted a friend to see if she knew of a solution.  Initially the friend thought she would keep Hudson but after a month she found she was not equipped to give Hudson the home he needed. She called NBBR and asked if we could take him into our program and find Hudson a forever home. Hudson had double cherry-eye. In addition to the cherry-eye he needed to be neutered as well. And last but not least, Hudson was diagnosed with a UTI infection. All things that could be corrected.

Hudson’s new family started the approval process several months ago. While patient, they were very eager to find a new addition.  The main thing necessary was to find a Bulldog that got along with other dogs AND had a lot of energy.  Many people don’t understand Bulldog puppies are not the stereotypical lump that most think.  They do eventually get to the lump stage but, as puppies, they can be VERY energetic. The fact that Hudson’s new forever mom is a mammal trainer made it a great fit. The family has a future sibling (Waffles), an energetic French Bulldog youngster that needs and wanted a playmate.  Enter Hudson…..after a Meet and Greet the boys met and the rest is history.  Both boys have plenty of energy to keep each other company and occupied.   Congratulations to Hudson, Waffles and their forever Mom.

10/22/2018 Update:

Hi everyone, Hudson here again!  I am loving this cooler weather. I get to play outside and run around all I want!  I don’t even care about the rain and mud, but FM doesnt seem to like the mud in the house.
I continue to be a good boy. I haven’t had any accidents in the house and I do that chew on anything but my toys.  I also crate up with no issues ever.
Still waiting to meet my forever family. I really hope they love to play and have other dogs I can play with. I still have my puppy energy and need lots of play time.

10/8/2018 Update:  Hi everyone, Hudson here!  It’s been fun here at my foster home. I love playing out in the rain, rolling around in the wet grass and coming back in the house and giving FM a big wet hug.  I still am a big ball of of puppy energy but I’m learning that when I calm down I can get love and affection, which isn’t so bad.
I am well behaved when I want to be. I walk nicely on a leash, I sit for treats, and I easily crate up every morning when FM goes to work. I still need to learn not to jump on new people, but I’m just so excited to meet them, I can’t help it.  I nibble on hands still, but am learning not to nibble hard, or people stop playing with me.
I love playing with my toys, and want everyone to play tug-o-war with me. I have found that my foster sister doesn’t want to play all the time, but FM will.
I really want to find my forever home soon so I can get settled in and be loved by my new family. I would love to go to a home with other dogs so I have some playmates.  Are you my forever family?

9/16/2018 Update:  Hi everyone, Hudson checking in!  I had a great week even though it was raining.  I found that with the rain, bugs come out and I really enjoy playing with them. FM says I look like a cat playing with a mouse when I play with the grasshoppers.

I also really enjoy running around in the rain, rolling in the mud, and playing with the water coming out of the gutters. FM says I need a bath now, I’m not sure if I like baths, she says it’s like rain, but warm. We’ll have to see if I approve.

I love my foster fur-sister and enjoy playing with her when FM gets tired of playing. We got new toys this week, I love playing tug of war with my new squeaky burrito and fetch with my squishy meatball.

I have had another good week of no accidents in the house.  I’m still crating up with no issues, and don’t bark when in my crate. I know how to sit on command, and will wait patiently for treats.

Still waiting to meet my forever family, but enjoying my time with my foster family.   Are you out there?

9/10/2018 Update:

Hi everyone, Hudson here!  It’s been a great week here at my foster home. I’m still having tons of fun playing with my foster fursister and my FM. We get new toys all the time and I love destoying them…fluff everywhere!  So much fun!  We also went on a walk around the neighborhood this weekend between the rain falls. I was so well behaved on the leash that I got treats when I got home.
I’ve been getting better with not bitting, I have only been giving love nibbles recently. And I’ve had no accidents in the house this week. FM is very proud of the progress I’m making.
I can’t wait to meet my forever family and get settled in. Could it be you?

8/27/2018 Update Hi everyone, Hudson here!  It’s been another enjoyable week with my foster family. I played with my toys, played with my fur-sister, and played some more!  I can’t get enough playing fetch or tug-o-war with anyone that’ll play with me. I had an exciting weekend. I went outside in the backyard and the fence was open. My fur-sister and I went out to the front and explored for a minute before FM realized something was wrong. I was a good puppy though, I stayed in the yard and came back to FM when she called me. I’m such a good puppy 🐶. Except the one accident I had in the house this week, but we won’t talk about that, okay?

I’m learning about not biting FM when playing anymore. I’ve learned that’s not good puppy behavior and rarely nibble even lightly when playing. I love to chew on my Benebone and my toys though.  I can’t get enough toys to play with, they are all so much fun.

Still waiting to hear from my forever family. Are you out there?

8/5/2018 Update:  Hi all, Hudson here!  I had a fun week playing with my foster sister and visitors that came to our house.  I still am a big ball of puppy energy, excited to play with anyone around. I have destroyed a few toys, but haven’t chewed on anything I shouldn’t be, so FM is happy with me.

I am almost done with my UTI meds, and doing good with going outside, only one accident this week.
We got a little rain, and I had fun playing with my foster sister in the rain and getting FM wet.
Foster Mom is working with me on not biting everybody when I am playing, I am doing much better than I had been.

I’m still looking for my forever home. I really hope it comes with another dog to play with, since humans tire out quicker than us pups do.

7/29/2018 Update:  Hi everyone, Hudson here. I’ve only been in my new foster home for a few days, but I’ve settled in nicely. I love my new foster sister, her name is Trixie, and we have fun playing tug-o-war together. I like to play more than she does, and FM says I am like the Energizer bunny, I keep going and going and going…but Sunday I took some time off to nap and recharge. I enjoy spending time with my FM, she plays tug-o-war with me also, and we play fetch…I fetch really good too!  I have only had one accident in the house, which I think is really good since I have a UTI. I take my pills like a gentleman, but I hate the eye drops FM puts in my eyes. I can’t get enough play time, and am just a happy little puppy always with a giant smile on my face. I would be great in a house with other dogs to play with, and am fine not being the one in charge. I may not be good around little kids though, I like to play rough and can nibble a bit hard for little hands (FM is trying to get me to stop this behavior). I am looking forward to meeting my forever family one day, maybe it’s you?

7/23/2018 Update:  Please welcome Hudson to the No Border Bulldog Rescue family.  Hudson is a 9 month old male English Bulldog that weighs 42 lbs.

Hudson joins NBBR as an owner surrender. Although Hudson is only 9 months old, he has already hit a couple of bumps in the road on his journey.  Originally Hudson was purchased from a breeder at 8 weeks old. All went well until his owner had a change in employment.  This change meant Hudson was spending too much time in a crate and by himself.  Not knowing what to do, his owner contacted a friend to see if she knew of a solution.  Initially the friend thought she would keep Hudson but after a month she found she was not equipped to give Hudson the home she wanted for him. She called NBBR and asked if we could take him into our program and find Hudson a forever home.

Like most Bulldogs that join NBBR, Hudson’s first stop was the clinic.  The first thing you noticed about Hudson was he had double cherry-eye. In addition to the cherry-eye he needed to be neutered as well. And last but not least, Hudson was diagnosed with a UTI infection. The good news on the UTI is it was just a bacterial infection and there were no signs of crystals.  While we received a texted photo of his vet records, when we contacted the number they could not find the records. So, Hudson got the “Welcome to Rescue Spa day”.  He is now up to date on all vaccines, has a microchip, is cherry eye free , neutered and is on antibiotics that will take care of his UTI infection.

Hudson is exactly what you think a 9 month old Bulldog puppy would be, he has energy for days. He loves to be close to humans. Sometimes too close as he wants to be on top of you at all times (not good when trying to drive, type or other tasks that require you not have a 42 lb. Bulldog in your lap).  While full of puppy energy, Hudson does calm down. He does well on car rides and seems to like everyone he meets (both humans and other dogs).  Hudson joined his foster family yesterday and all seems to be going well.  He is trying his best to relax, but does like to play. Once released from Medical Hold, Hudson will begin his search to find his forever home, so stay tuned as we learn more about this little guy.
