4/23/2018 Update:

Holly was ADOPTED!!!!! It is with the great pleasure we are able to announce that Holly found her happily ever after AND a forever family all in one.

Holly is a testament to the adage “Rescue never stops”.  Two days before Christmas Holly was listed on a local neighborhood For Sale site.  Her owner had fallen on hard times and had been sleeping outside with her.  Holly’s owner had been contemplating selling her for awhile and with the knowledge of cold weather on the way he decided December 23 was the day.  A volunteer who works with NBBR and other rescues contacted the owner and started coordinating a surrender meeting. It was then the owner said pick up HAD to be that day.  It was truly a holiday miracle that multiple volunteers were willing to drop everything (it was Christmas weekend) and rush to the aid of a Bulldog being listed for sale, in heat AND facing the possibility she would be sleeping outside during a very cold Texas night. Holly arrived to her current foster home not smelling the best.  Holly was very shy and timid in her new surroundings.  Holly also didn’t want to take treats or even eat.  But after a bath, some TLC and gentle reassurances Holly began to come out of her shell.

Holly’s forever family is a true Bulldog family, not only did they adopt Holly to complete their family, they have also became a NBBR foster family. So, not only did Holly get a forever family, she scored a foster sister in the deal as well. Holly now has TWO Moms and a human sibling (whom she adores).  Holly hit the jackpot and will no doubt be spoiled and is destined to a life of being a pampered princess. Congratulations to Holly and the entire family.

3/18/2018 Update:

Life has been pretty good! I have been doing amazing in my crate while my family works. No accidents in the house except when it rains! I just won’t get my paws wet! Been playful but super smelly! I have been blowing it up with my gas. Mom asked if there are any tips to help with this, please feel free to send them. I have discovered I hate the lawn mower even if it’s not on. I have also discovered I am obsessed with ice. I go crazy over it! We love learning new things about me. My family gets super tickled when we find new discoveries. Just like when I jumped up on the picnic table and gave mom a heart attach – I act like I can’t do a lot of things, but in fact, I can. Jumping is always surprise. Mom went out of her way and got me this horrible unicorn costume that I look adorable in. She is so obsessed with Bulldogs and Unicorns. She needs a support group. I hate it but I tolerate it so mom gets a good laugh. Plus, I’m super cute so why not! I know there is a photo shoot coming if I put it on. LOL Who am I kidding? Mom always has the camera on me. I definitely have learned my name finally and answer to Holly now. My brother had this awesome tent up in his room over Spring Break and I loved it so much, I got my own. It fits all my toys and by bed and blankets. I spend my naps in there and love it. Spoiled much? Yes, I am. Mom give got me a stroller so I can take walks with the family and not over do it. I am such an easy dog, I just go with it. I don’t believe I have any complaints. Life is good. I am loved and give just as much love right back. Until then… I wish you lots of bully kisses and butt rubs

Love, Holly

3/11/2018 Update:  We were hoping to make it to the event but some unexpected circumstances kept us in Hutto. I have been awesome! No accidents and absolutely no trouble with my crate and being crated inside while mom is at work! I have been minding my manners and being a good girl! Everything has been smooth! I’m coming up on my second check of heart worms. Mom’s fingers are crossed! I’m ready to finally knock that mess out and be completely healthy! In the meantime, we have been pushing anonline donation fund to help raise some money for our new surrenders and show this Rescue some love! Mom doesn’t stop and is always trying to help! So far we have raised a little over a hundred but we are still working at it! We just found out our new friend Evie and her parents were approved in a adoption from NBBR and we are so excited! There is NOTHING more satisfying or rewarding than being apart of another bully getting a forever home but a forever home you know that is amazing! Our hearts are overwhelmed with happiness! Mom even cried! She is so dramatic but that’s why she loves to help! We just absolutely love them! Sheryl and Seth will be amazing adopted parents along with Evie and Teddy! We are planning play dates and staying in touch! So mom asked me today, if she could bring in another foster! I know she is adopting me but I definitely love being the center of attention. I think another bully would work! They just need to be crate trained too because mom can’t have chewing and non sense lol 😂 she loves us but carries a heavy paw! She is Alpha! But there isn’t much she wouldn’t do for us or this Rescue! Who knows what the future holds! So, until then, I wish you puppy love and butt rubs! I’m a happy girl!

3/4/2018 Update:

NBBR-

It’s been a great week! No accidents in the house! However, I did earn myself having to be crated while my family is out! I chewed up more stuff and Mom was so mad! Especially about her unicorn light! So, yeah! No more free roam for me! I have been doing fine though in my crate and no anxiety! Mom was concerned about that but I obviously had to trust my humans before being able to complete this task! I definitely trust em! I have been taking commands so good! When they say “outside”, “load up”, or “get in your bed (crate)” I follow command! I have even started doing a little bark once I’m done going potty so my family knows I’m done and to let me back in! We definitely have found our routine together. Mom starts a new job tomorrow so this will be something new for all of us to figure out! I’m such a mommas girl, I’m not sure how I am going to take it! I’m healthy and happy! Maybe a little fatter but I’m beautiful! Sending puppy kisses and butt rubs

❤💋🐶 Holly

2/27/2018 Update:  Holly here! Well, let’s just say it’s been a learning week for my family! I had another potty accident and I completely refuse to get my paws wet in the rain! Nope! Not this girl! I have also started chewing on things when they leave me. Mom is scared to leave the house now. She doesn’t want me crated due to the anxiety I get but they are considering blocking off the area in the kitchen if I don’t stop acting out! Lol 😂 I’m still learning as they are. I just love them so much and I’m a super mommas girl so I never want to leave her side! I have that nickname “shadow” down for sure! I’m just living the best dog life now! I’m clean, feed, taken care of and loved very much! But I give them just as much love as I can and they sooo appreciate it! Mom has a new job starting next week so wish us luck on finding a solution on this chewing non sense! I have plenty of toys so maybe I just need to stop my tantrums! Paws 🐾 crossed we come to a compromise 😊 Well until next week! Wishing everyone puppy kisses and butt rubs

2/20/2018 Update:  This week has been good! No accidents in the house like last week but this week I decided the tv remote needed to be tamed and I chewed it up! I got another amazing bath and it was like a spa day! I continue to get loved on and spoiled. Everything seemed pretty good after the report came in from my follow up appointment with Dr H! Some medical issues will be a life long process but I’m in good hands! My family is always on top of my needs! Other than that, I sleep and play when I have the energy! Mainly I just look pretty and get spoiled!! Until next week…

2/3/2018 Update:  This week has been great in my doggy dog world! I got to spend the whole week with my mom! Never had to leave her side! She has me been giving me this awesome new goat milk with my breakfast and I just love it! I got my full bath and I look, feel, and SMELL amazing! I have had 2 accidents in the house but mom forgave me. I will continue to do better because I notice I get treats when I do. This little boy in the house continues to love on my and follows me around. I thought I was supposed to follow him around. But he sure is nice to cuddle and nap with. Plus when we take a ride to pick him up, I can’t wait for to see him and stare at the window. I have come to notice I do have a voice when loud noises happen and scare me! Who knew I actually barked! Everyone was super surprised! Mom has been working on getting me a stroller so when we take walks, when I get tired or hot, she can just push me and I can still enjoy time together! I’m super spoiled and she tells me this all the time but I think I’m just super duper loved! Mom has been in touch with the vet and we have new meds and refills coming via mail! She definitely stays on top on my medical needs! I have gained some weight. I’m much rounder these days! But I’m still beautiful! Mom tells me this all the time! I’ll be coming back north within the next week for my follow up with my vet! See my progress! My family will miss me but I know I get to come back home to them! I have made my mark in this new home and in the hearts of my new humans! Hard to believe it’s only been a month! They shower me with kisses, rubs, and hugs! I’m a happy dog! Until next week…

1/28/2018 Update:

Holly  can take commands and sit when asked. She is working on her shaking but she has this amazing trick of just looking sweet and we give her kisses. I believe she is training us than us trying to train her lol Still struggling on her knowing her name but will answer to “baby girl”. She answers to everything as long as it sounds pretty and she is being talked sweet too! She doesn’t like peanut butter but can tear into some cheese. And man does she know the sound of a cheese wrapper coming off!

Holly is still continuing to take her medications as directed but looks like everything looks to be improving with the things we can see. She looks like she has gained some weigh and looks good! Fat happy dog!  She is always a step behind me, she is a shadow! We sure adore her!!

1/21/2018 Update:  She is definitely just blossoming! She has become super playful! She loves balls and remote control cars lol! When we first got her, she wouldn’t go near her crate we had set up for her but she has now gone in to sleep! She never is crated but I believe she is trusting us more and more. She does have some anxiety when one of us leaves but definitely when we all leave! It’s not often she isn’t with me daily but the fees times it has been a little scare for her so we are working on that! She has started to try and jump our legs so that has been violating lol She loves her treats and demands them after she goes potty outside! She reminds me if I forgot! We look forward to being able to get her a full bath in a couple of days! It will be safe enough after her being fixed! She truly is a joy to have around!

She hasn’t had any accidents in the house and is super good about letting us know she needs to potty! She loves to go bye bye with me and has become even more spoiled by my grandmother. She doesn’t run off but knows we mean business with the leash and she has to follow direction! She has made her way in the house and is has become our shadow!

Medical wise, she is down to two meds now but we are fighting her skin allergy a little but a good bath and some coconut oil will fix her up. She is still struggling with her ear infections but the vet is sending us some antibiotics for the inflammation. She goes back Feb 13th to the clinic for her second round of Heartworm treatment and follow-up !

Until next week…

1/14/2018 Update:

Just within 2 days of fostering this sweet baby, we have come to confirm Holly is amazing! She loves car rides and walks in the park! Very calm presence and demeanor! Patient and loving with younger kids. Potty trained, loves to roam free in house but definitely not an fan of the crate! Doesn’t bark or chew on things! She loves stuffed animals and likes to play with them! She loves her treats and loves to beg for food! She is found of her naps and will nap anytime and any where lol! She follows directions but definitely not used to her new name. As long as you make eye contact or speak sweet, she listens. She has become our shadow! We just love her! We have cleaned her up and following medical requests and meds! She has no problem taking meds covered in cheese! Lol She loves her belly and butt rubs and being told she is a princess! She is truly a jewel!

She has had no problem jumping in our cars to tell us she is going with us! She snores to high heaven, loves to give kisses, but can clear a room with her stinky farts! She has claimed her spot on the couch and in our bed! She will make herself known or what she wants with a gremlin sound! So cute! She also likes humping Kendra’s leg lol She also loves to talk back!!

We have learned a lot just in 2 days but is very loved! As for meds, she scratches at ears after drops which is normal. Her stool has changed due to food / snack change and meds! We have put some coconut oil into her snacks and on her body! Got moisturizer for her snout and keeping eye on stitches and keeping her calm due to heart worms. I hope she looks better and you can see the change in 30 days! Next weekend she will be given a true bath! Clean up her smell a little! Lol

12/26/2017 Update:

Please welcome Holly to the No Borders Bulldog Family. Holly is a three year old female English Bulldog that weighs 44 lbs.

One volunteer was able to pick Holly up and keep her the night, while another volunteer was able to meet the first volunteer and get Holly to her temporary foster home until we can get her to a permanent foster home.

Holly arrived to her current foster home not smelling the best.  Holly was very shy and timid in her new surroundings.  Holly also didn’t want to take treats or even eat.  But after a bath, some TLC and gentle reassurances Holly has begun to come out of her shell. She had a great Christmas INSIDE a nice warm house surrounded by a family that showered her with love and attention. Holly has started to eat and take treats. Holly does appear to have a few items that will need to be addressed by the clinic. She has some skin issues and a potential ear infection as well as needing to be spayed. Those things will be addressed this week.

While Holly started out very shy and timid. She is slowly showing bits and pieces of her true personality. Holly is a sweet girl that gets along well with others. According to her temporary foster Mom she will make a great companion to her new forever family.  Please keep Holly in your thoughts and prayers as she starts a new chapter in her life journey.
