9/13/2024 Update:
Harlie, the Frenchie who’s been charming hearts at No Borders Bulldog Rescue. This little lady has been thriving in her foster home, and her journey is nothing short of heartwarming.
Lately, Harlie’s been reveling in the cooler weather. It seems our girl has discovered the joys of extended walks, trotting along with a spring in her step that says, “This weather? Made for Frenchies.” And when the sun peeks out? Well, let’s just say Harlie’s perfected the art of sunbathing. She stretches out like a seasoned sun worshipper, soaking up every ray as if storing it for a rainy day.
Harlie’s health has been on the upswing too. Thanks to Apoquel, she’s scratching less and living more. Add to that a new diet that’s fancier than a five-star restaurant menu, and Harlie’s allergies are finally taking a backseat to her zest for life.
In her downtime, Harlie’s quite the entertainer. She’s picked up a charming habit from her foster brother – greeting visitors with a prized possession. Picture Harlie, trotting up to newcomers, favorite toy in mouth, showing it off with a pride that says, “Look what I’ve got!” It’s as if she’s saying, “Welcome to my home. No autographs, please.”
Bedtime with Harlie is an adventure in itself. As her foster mom cranks the AC to arctic levels, Harlie transforms into the world’s cutest heat-seeking missile. She snuggles up close, her head on the pillow, unabashedly using her humans as personal heaters. It’s a nightly dance of blankets, body heat, and one very contented Frenchie.
Harlie’s looking for a forever home that understands the finer points of Frenchie care. A family that knows IVDD precautions are as important as belly rubs, and that managing allergies is just part of keeping that adorable Frenchie smile bright.
In Harlie’s world, every day is an opportunity for joy, whether it’s a game of fetch, a good chew on a Benebone, or simply cuddling up with her favorite humans. She’s not just looking for a home; she’s looking for her people – the ones who’ll cherish her quirks, support her health, and maybe, just maybe, invest in an extra warm blanket for those chilly nights.
8/24/2024 Update:
Our sweet girl Harlie is living her best life in her foster home, and boy, does she have stories to tell! We had a French gentleman caller for 10 days, and let's just say he didn't get the memo about age gaps! This 8-year-old Frenchie was determined to make 18-month-old Harlie his girlfriend. Talk about persistent! Harlie, being the patient soul she is, tolerated his, ahem, "attention" like a champ. She only reminded him once that she's not that kind of girl! Harlie loves nothing more than being a professional couch cuddler with her humans. To keep her safe from any more disc scares, we've added a ramp. And guess what? She's using it like a pro! If there were an Olympic event for giving kisses, Harlie would take gold! She recently met NBBR Alum Peanut and greeted her like a long-lost BFF. Watch out world, Harlie's tongue is locked and loaded with love! Health Update (because adulting is hard). We're still working on Harlie's allergy situation. Current status: Battling the dreaded Yeasty Paw Syndrome and Ear Itch Extravaganza. But fear not! Our vets are on the case with meds (Apoquel) and a fancy hydrolyzed protein diet. Our princess Harlie is looking for her forever castle, but it needs to be a special one:
- Allergy Awareness: Her new family should be ready to continue her allergy meds and special diet. (Yes, she’s high-maintenance, but totally worth it!)
- IVDD Savvy: Experience with IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) is a must. We need a family who knows all about keeping those doggy discs happy and healthy!
- Ramp Enthusiasts: Bonus points if you already have ramps or are willing to use them. Harlie’s all about that elevated lifestyle!
Think you've got what it takes to be Harlie's happily ever after? Get in touch! This little lady is ready to steal your heart (and probably your spot on the couch) 💖🐾

6/13/2024 Update:
Harlie is still loving life at her foster home and making the most of every moment! She’s particularly enjoying her favorite pastime – playfully annoying her foster brother. Whether it’s sneakily stealing his toys or just being her charming self, Harlie knows how to keep everyone on their toes.
Her playful antics and affectionate nature have made her a joy to have around. Every day is a new adventure with Harlie, and we couldn’t be happier to see her thriving.
5/30/2024 Update:
Hello, everyone! It’s time for an update on our favorite FOMO queen, Harlie!
If there’s one thing you need to know about Harlie, it’s that she has a severe case of Fear of Missing Out. Whether it’s her people or her foster brother, she absolutely must be in the middle of the action at all times. Picture this: you’re trying to enjoy a quiet moment, and suddenly, there’s Harlie, nudging her way in to soak up all the attention. Thankfully, her foster brother is a saint and tolerates her antics with a sigh.
Harlie’s energy levels are off the charts! Her batteries are permanently set to 100%. She’s always ready to play, whether it’s a game of fetch with her foster parents or an intense round of keep-away with her foster brother. Don’t want to play? Well, too bad because Harlie does and she will relentlessly attempt until you give in.
And don’t even get us started on her obsession with sticks. Bark from the woodpile? Tree branches? Random sticks she finds? All fair game for Harlie. She even has a taste for fine furniture, often sampling the wood coffee table!
Speaking of tastes, Harlie loves her Benebones. Or rather, she loves her foster brother’s Benebones because, obviously, they must be better than hers.
Harlie’s also a bit of a foodie. Drop something, and she’s got it covered faster than you can say “oops.” She’s not picky and views every morsel as a delicious opportunity.
When the day’s adventures wind down, Harlie transforms into the ultimate snuggle buddy. At bedtime, she’ll cozy up as close as possible to her human, sometimes resting her head on your neck for the perfect end to her action-packed day.
Harlie is a bundle of joy, energy, and love. She’s constantly making her foster family laugh with her antics and warming their hearts with her cuddles.
Harlie will do best with at least one stay at home or work from home parent. She loves to be with her people. She will lay at your feet while you work and chew on her bone. And if she wants some love, she will nudge you to let you know it is time for some holdy.
5/15/2024 Update:
Harlie is thriving in her foster home! She’s living her best life, enjoying every moment to the fullest.
Playtime Galore: Harlie spends her days playing with her foster brother, keeping him on his toes with her playful antics. She’s a bundle of energy and joy!
Bedtime Shenanigans: Guess who’s upgraded to the “big bed”? That’s right, Harlie! She now snuggles up with her foster family at night, but there’s a catch—Harlie’s a pillow hog! She’s claimed the pillow as her own and enjoys sprawling out like the princess she is. Thankfully her foster brother has taught her how to wait to be put up on the bed and wait to be put down.
Princess Harlie: Speaking of princesses, Harlie deserves to be treated like royalty. She thrives in an environment where she’s showered with love and attention, just like the little princess she is. And, she won’t take no for an answer when she needs some love.
Harlie is ready to find her forever home, where she’ll be cherished and pampered. Could that be with you?

4/24/2024 Update:
Harlie! This little French Bulldog powerhouse continues to bring endless joy and laughter to our home with her boundless energy and playful antics.
Harlie’s love for play knows no bounds, and she could spend all day romping around if we let her! Her favorite playmate is still her older foster brother, who does an amazing job keeping up with her spirited nature. Though, he’s quick to let her know when it’s time for a break and a little relaxation.
Ah, Harlie and her penchant for chewing! It’s a good thing we’ve learned to keep things off the floor because if it’s within her reach, it’s fair game for her to investigate with those sharp little teeth. You name it – if it’s on the floor, Harlie’s got her eyes and likely her mouth on it!
But don’t let her mischievous side fool you; Harlie is one smart cookie. She’s picked up on her foster brother’s habits, both the good and the not-so-good. When he barks for a treat, she’s quick to join in and give us that adorable look that says, “Why isn’t he getting a treat?”
And let’s talk about her love for the great outdoors! Harlie is in her element whether she’s chasing after a ball, gnawing on a stick, or simply lounging in the sunshine. There’s nothing quite like seeing her bask in the beauty of nature.
In short, Harlie continues to amaze us with her zest for life and her unwavering affection. We feel incredibly lucky to have her in our lives, even if it means keeping a close eye on our belongings! Whoever is lucky enough to adopt Harlie will surely be gaining a lifelong companion filled with love, laughter, and endless butt wiggles.
4/16/2024 Update:
Harlie is living her best full-of-energy puppy life and doesn’t miss a beat. You could call her the “Energizer Frenchie” because she’s all about PLAY PLAY PLAY!
Thankfully, her foster brother is a patient soul and knows when to take a break. Harlie’s zest for life extends to her love for food. Not only does she devour her own meal, but she’s also been known to sneak a bite from her foster brother’s bowl if we’re not quick enough to pick it up!
But Harlie’s culinary adventures don’t stop there. She has a penchant for treats, grass, and, believe it or not, wood! Yes, you read that right—wood! Harlie enjoys nothing more than gnawing on bark from the woodpile while soaking up the sun outside.
Speaking of the outdoors, Harlie loves basking in the sunlight and feeling the breeze ruffle her fur. She’ll even bring her bones and toys outside to enjoy the weather with her. Just watch your step—those Benebones can be quite the surprise if you accidentally step on one!
If you’re looking for a funny, fun, and full-of-energy Frenchie to join your family, Harlie is your girl!

4/4/2024 Update:
Harlie is doing well in her foster home after her spay and vulvoplasty. Despite the need for some extra TLC and calmness during her recovery, Harlie is shining bright with her resilient spirit and affectionate nature. Since her procedures, Harlie has been on a no walk, light activity regimen until her stitches are removed next Tuesday. Despite the temporary pause on walks, she's been soaking up all the love and attention from her foster family, showing her gratitude with every butt wiggle and snuggle. Speaking of snuggles, Harlie has truly mastered the art of cuddling. Whether it's on the couch or in an office chair, she'll find her way into your lap with a heart-melting sweetness that's impossible to resist. And if you happen to overlook her for a moment, don't worry – she's not shy about letting out the cutest little cry to remind you of her presence and need for affection. Harlie's love for soaking up some Vitamin D knows no bounds. She's a sunbathing aficionado, reveling in those warm rays whenever she can. With the weather getting warmer, her outdoor time may be shorter, but her enjoyment remains unwavering. Harlie's foster family, including twin girls who visit regularly, brings her endless joy. She adores playing with them, though she did have a comical moment of uncertainty when confronted with bubbles – a new experience for this curious pup! Stay tuned for more updates as Harlie's journey unfolds
3/3/2024 Update:
First things first, Harlie is currently in heat, so she’s experiencing some extra TLC during this time. Her foster family is ensuring she’s comfortable and well-cared-for throughout this natural phase of her life.
Because Harlie is in heat, we had to stop walks for right now – we don’t want all the dogs in the neighborhood to come to our yard. Harlie loves to walk and once we start our regular walking routine again, we will work with her to not pull quite as much. She just wants to GO and you better be prepared to go too or this 23 lb. Frenchie is going to pull you around the neighborhood.
Harlie is quite the foodie! She’s incredibly food motivated and enjoys mealtime with gusto. To ensure harmony during feeding, Harlie is fed separately from her foster sibling, allowing her to savor every delicious bite without any interruptions.
When it comes to playtime, Harlie is all in! She’s a bundle of energy and enthusiasm, always eager to engage in games and activities that stimulate her curious mind and playful spirit. Whether it’s chasing balls, playing tug-of-war with her foster brother, or simply doing zoomies around the yard, Harlie approaches every moment with infectious joy and enthusiasm.
And let’s not forget about Harlie’s love for Benebones! These chewy delights are her absolute favorite, providing hours of entertainment and satisfaction. Harlie eagerly savors every moment of chewing bliss.
Harlie is a delightful addition to our foster family, radiating love, joy, and endless cuddles wherever she goes. With her lovable nature and irresistible charm, Harlie is sure to capture the hearts of her future forever family.
Thank you for following along on Harlie’s journey. Stay tuned for more updates as she continues to thrive and spread happiness wherever she goes!
2/26/2024 Update:
Please welcome Harlie to No Borders Bulldog Rescue. Harlie is a 10-month-old female French Bulldog that weighs approximately 23 lbs.
Harlie joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender. Harlie’s previous owner was having medical issues and was no longer able to care for Harlie. Before you jump to conclusions, her owner did EVERYTHING she could to care for Harlie. All the resources she had at her disposal had been utilized. She knew that Harlie deserved better care than she could currently provide, so she made the ultimate sacrifice and decided to do what was best for Harlie. She contacted NBBR and asked if we could help find Harlie a new forever home. Typically, we are running at compacity (foster-wise) and now is not different, however we had a foster recently mention that she would be willing to foster. It turns out that it was a good match for both the foster AND Harlie. So, the rest is history as they say.
Harlie joined her new foster family and quickly made herself at home. We suggest slow introductions for new fosters and forever dogs in the home. Harlie has a new foster brother (another Frenchie). Everyone was following the rules and both dogs were separated by a baby gate so that they see and smell one another and get used to each other without a stressful first meeting. Harlie and her foster brother were both going crazy on their respective side of the gate and clearly wanted to meet each other. It was decided that everyone would go out in the yard together for a quick first introduction. Flash forward a few minutes and they are chasing each other around the yard. If first meetings are any indication, they are going to be besties. Harlie will need to go to the clinic to get a check-up and scheduled for a spay. She appears to be in great shape and well cared for. Currently we do know that Harlie has allergies and a sensitive stomach (like many Frenchies) and cannot eat certain things. This is not likely to change, so her forever family will need to be comfortable with a special diet and potentially allergy medication. But before we go down that road Miss Harlie will be spending her days settling into her new foster home and letting us get to know her personality a little better. Stay tuned for future updates and follow along as Miss Harlie starts her journey to find her new forever family.
