8/4/2016 Update:Gump was ADOPTED!!!! It is with GREAT pleasure we get to announce that Gump has found his forever home. Gump joined rescue as an unmannered mess, but after a month of very hard work with his foster dad, Gump is a changed man. Gump still has some things to work on, but his forever Dad will make sure that Gump will be one spoiled Bulldog. He went from a very dismal situation to the lap of luxury. Gump now has a fur sister to share his new forever Dad with. Congratulations are in order for the entire family.
7/31/2016 Update:Gump had a good week. He continues to learn his manners. He is now comfortable enough off leash and doesn’t run off when he’s free. Gump enjoys going on golf cart rides and no longer tries to jump off. He tries to be a protector, but he is really just a big baby.
7/10/2016 Update:Gump had an exciting week. He got to spend 5 days with his sister Maci. They hung out by the pool and wrestled nonstop.
Gump is beginning to learn manners and basic skills like walking on a leash, how to sit, and most importantly how to play well with others. He is very affectionate and loves to snuggle and play.
6/27/2016 Update:Please welcome Gump to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.
Gump and his sister are from a group of dogs confiscated from a home that had no running water, limited electricity and owners who were wanting to “start a breeding program.” One of the siblings was adopted, leaving the others to stay in the shelter. After a month of no one willing or able to take them, the staff at the local shelter were desperately looking for rescue to step in. NBBR made the 4 hour drive to get Gump and his sister.
Gump is an Olde English Bulldog that wights 39 lbs. (very thin). He was covered in fleas and appears to have never had a bath. He also has some sores on his legs from the flea infestation, which were treated immediately.
Gump is STARVED for attention and is a very lovable little guy. He joined his foster family on Saturday and all seems to be going well. He does currently get a little nervous around other dogs but his foster Dad is working on his manners. His behavior appears to be from never being properly socialized. Gump will be going to the vet on Wednesday. From there, hewill start his journey to find his forever home. Gump will need a family that is willing to be patient with him and one that has A LOT of extra love to shower on him. Does Gump sound like he could be the new member you have been looking for? If so, please fill out an adoption application.
