6/13/2020 Update:

Enzo (now Gorgio) has been ADOPTED!!!!  Little E has departed his foster family and has found his forever family.

Enzo joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender. He had a major health issue (prolapsed rectum) and his family took him to the vet to get his issue addressed. The family did have the surgery completed to give Enzo the best possible chance at survival. But after considering all the facts they received, they didn’t feel that they were equipped to provide the necessary time and support that he needed, so they contacted NBBR and surrendered Enzo.  After a few short weeks of rest, relaxation and recovery Enzo was ready for his forever home. While Enzo IS adorable we knew it wouldn’t be long before the landslide of applications started. When a Rescue gets a puppy, the applications spike and the competition is fierce. Add to the fact that there are many families that have been approved and have been on the waiting list and the number of interested families sometimes can be almost unmanageable.

For Enzo the stars aligned. His forever family (previous adopters) applied to adopt another NBBR Bulldog days before Enzo even joined NBBR.  While they were interested in another Bulldog in our care, it was quickly determined that the Bulldog that they thought would be a fit, wasn’t.  Fast forward and Mr. Enzo joined NBBR. While his forever family didn’t realize it,  Mr. Enzo appeared to be the perfect fit.  Enzo’s family is a true “Rescue” family.   They had previously adopted a French Bulldog from another Rescue only to have her pass away after a very short amount of time.  While this would have deterred most families, this wasn’t the case with this family. They then adopted a French Bulldog from NBBR and it was a match made in heaven.  After about a year and a half, they received the horrible news that their beloved Frenchie was diagnosed with inoperable heart cancer.  Did this deter their “Rescue” spirit…..no.   The next dog that was in need was the pet of an elderly church friend, so they once again opened their hearts and took him into their home.   The family is typically a 3 dog family and found themselves down to two pups and extra love available to give.  After discussing Enzo and his needs, they agreed that he might be the right fit.  So, a Meet and Greet was set up with Kendal and Tucker (his perspective forever siblings) to test the water. All went as expected and Enzo and the crew got along famously. Kendal and Tucker were the key decision makers as we knew that Enzo would win over all the humans in his house without even trying.   Mr. Enzo is now the little Bulldog with a new name.  He went from one Italian name to another (Gorgio). It is ok because he had only been Enzo for a few weeks (he joined NBBR with a very unfortunate name). In addition to a new name, he has TWO new canine siblings and FOUR human siblings.  Since everyone is home still from the pandemic, Gorgio has plenty of people and things to keep him occupied and feeling beyond loved.   Congratulations to Gorgio and his entire family….it is so great when Happily Ever After occurs.

5/10/2020 Update:

Mr. E had another busy week! He had his neutering stitches removed like a champ, celebrated a big 5-0 birthday with his foster dad, and jumped right back into work. This is one fierce and loveable Frenchie! Enzo has never met a stranger and can’t wait to meet his forever family.

5/24/2020 Update:

Please welcome Enzo to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Enzo is a 6 month old male French Bulldog that weighs 21lbs.

Enzo joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender.   Enzo had a major health issue (prolapsed rectum) and his family took him to the vet to get his issue addressed. The family did have the surgery completed to give Enzo the best possible chance at survival. But after considering all the facts they received, they didn’t feel that they were equipped to provide the necessary time and support that he needed, so they contacted NBBR and surrendered Enzo.

Once Enzo arrived to NBBR, he immediately went to the clinic to get a complete physical. The primary issue was his prolapsed rectum and how he was recovering from his surgery (it had been less than 24 hours since he had had the surgery). All in all, Enzo is a happy Bulldog puppy. It did not appear that he had had any vaccines or preventative medical care. In addition to these minor details, like most Bulldogs that are surrendered to NBBR, Enzo will need to be neutered as well. The great news is that Mr. E is heartworm negative and free of all internal parasites and worms.  Due to his surgery and the recovery process associated with it, Enzo has an extensive list of medications that he is currently taking (stool softener, antibiotics and pain medication). Enzo will be returning to the clinic next week to have his stitches removed AND to be neutered. The neutering is being done at that time to minimize the number of times Enzo is required to be under anesthesia.

Enzo is a shy little guy when he initially meets new people (for a bit).  However, give him a few minutes to get acquainted, and his inner puppy takes over and he is ready to rumble.  Enzo went to his foster family yesterday where he quickly became the hit of the house. He has two human foster brothers that are anxious to be able to give Enzo all the love and attention he could ask.  We didn’t receive much information concerning Enzo’s living arrangements prior to his surrender.  But he appears to be a happy go lucky typical French Bulldog full of spunky attitude.  Enzo doesn’t know it yet, but there will be several weeks of R & R to allow him to heal and grow into the Bulldog he was always meant to be. Stay tuned as we learn more about Enzo and get weekly updates from his foster family.  Enzo has some fun times ahead as he begins the next chapter of his life: finding the family that will love him and allow him to have the happily ever after that he deserves.
