5/16/2021 Update:
It is with great sadness that we share that Diamond crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 7, 2021 after a short illness. Diamond came to No Borders Bulldog Rescue with a pretty serious skin infection. She also had a narrow trachea and an enlarged heart but you wouldn’t know anything was wrong with her. Diamond loved to play with her ball and her Foster Mom could only get her back inside by promising her treats. She loved to lay outdoors and found the sun to be her best friend. Diamond wasn’t much into other dogs. In fact, it took her almost 2 years before she decided to try and get along with her foster sister Bella (adopted from NBBR). Diamond had a love hate relationship with Bella. Sometimes she loved her and would lay right next to her on her raised bed. other times she would chase Bella out of it so she could have it for herself. Once she discovered the belly rubs waiting for her on the sofa that is where she always wanted to be, right next to Foster Mom. She loved treats of any kind and she loved to ride in the car, as long as she could ride in the passenger seat. Don’t even try putting her in the back. Diamond wasn’t having that. She was a princess in every sense of the word.

Hi Everyone! Diamond here with an update for you.
Listen, look at this picture! I am the bulldog with the blue circle around me. Yes, that’s me, sitting next to my foster sisters and not trying to eat them! Foster Mom cannot believe it with her own eyes! It has taken me awhile to realize the other doggies don’t want to hurt me. I don’t get free rein yet, I am only out with Foster Mom watching but for the last week I have been doing pretty good. I spend more time on the sofa and playing in the backyard now too!
I take all of my meds like a champ and am doing really well with taking my bath. I am still looking for my forever home. I hope you know I am really a lover not a fighter! Have a good week everyone!

3/24/2020 Update:
Diamond here. Listen, this Covid-19 quarantine stuff doesn’t have to be all bad. I mean, here I am on the sofa watching Paw Patrol. How bad can that be?
Foster Mom says I am a good girl when I choose to be, which, isn’t all the time but I am improving. I still take my meds like a champ and love to have my ears rubbed. I still don’t like other dogs too much, I am a queen you know? I need lots of attention. But when I am next to FM I am all about snuggles and belly rubs. I am a sweet girl and I love to play tug-o-war with my toys too! Please apply to adopt me today. I would really like to have a forever home. Thank you.

1/14/2019 Update: Hi all. Diamond here. I know it’s been awhile but foster Mom had to have a little surgery so I had to hang out at Dr. H’s for a few weeks. They were very nice to me but boy was I glad to see foster mom when she picked me up.
12/3/2018 Update: Hi Everyone, Diamond here! Foster Mom is behind in my updates and decided today I needed some cute Christmas Elf feet on my head to make up for it! As you can see I am not very impressed!

8/13/2018 Update:
Hi Everyone! Diamond here, whew, it’s been a rough couple of weeks. I have had surgery to remove a bump on my leg and my booty! Then I managed to land a sinus infection. So to say I am a trooper is an understatement. I take all my meds like a champ and I am not letting anything bother me!
Foster mom tells me I am such a sweet girl all the time. I am doing better with my foster sister Bella. We are still taking things slowly, and I am still not a happy camper when Bella approaches my room, but when we are in common space we are getting along better. Mostly we just avoid each other. But whatever.
I love to play with my little stuffed animals and when Bella isn’t looking I swipe hers too! I raise my paws when I want to be rubbed and follow Foster mom wherever she goes. That’s it for now! Have a great week
7/23/2018 Update:
Hi Everyone, Diamond here. I have had a pretty good week getting settled in a bit more at Foster Mom’s house. I have my own room that I love. Foster Mom has discovered I may not be completely crate trained. I like to pee pee in my crate at night so we are work in progress on that. I am still overcoming my medical issues and am heading back to see Dr. H for some follow-up tomorrow. Mom says my kennel cough is much better but still have a couple things Doc needs to look at, but I’m spunky for sure! I ride in my crate in the car and do really well in the car. I don’t mind seeing Dr. H and all the girls who love on me at the office but I am always happy to go home!
I discovered a big red ball in my backyard today! Oh my do I love to play with my ball. It’s pretty hot out so I only get to play for a couple of minutes, but I make the most of them. I have toys inside too, well, FM tells me they are to share, but Iike to hoard them in my crate! Then I can have them to myself! I’m still not getting along too well with my big sister Bella just yet. Foster Mom tells me we will take it slow. Today I was on the leash outside while Bella was off leash and we did just fine. I left her alone and did my thing. The problem I have is when I am in the house next to Mom. I feel like I need to protect her although she tells me she doesn’t need me for that. I love the scratches under my chin that I get and I often sit up on my booty to get hugs. I am enjoying my life inside and am very quiet when Bella isn’t next to my room. I don’t whine or bark and am content to chew on my toys that no one can get away from me! Well that’s about all for this week! Make it a great day and see ya soon!
7/16/2018 Update: Everyone! Diamond here! Listen, I have had an AMAZING week despite all that I have been through. I am settling into my foster mom’s house. I have my own little area to wander and I love it! My favorite place to lay is in the open crate! Foster Mom says that I am house trained, other than when I try to mark what I think is mine! I’m not much for sharing with my other two bulldog sisters, but foster mom is holding out hope that with a slow introduction I will eventually learn to love them. Love is such a strong word, I’m striving for ‘Liking’ them. Let’s start there. J
I do have a few tricks up my sleeve. I know how to sit, and shake with both paws, and I follow foster mom very well. I go right outside potty and come right back to the door where she attempts to clean me. I’m sort of against that. I like to ‘sit’ when she says ‘stand’ so we play a little game when it’s clean up time but it’s all good.
I’m on meds for my heart, the infections I came into rescue with, and I also managed to contract kennel cough. I have had no problem taking my meds as long as they are wrapped neatly in a little piece of cheese of course! Foster mom says I am very happy little girl. I don’t whine or cry or bark, except when my foster sister Bella gets too close to my gate. Then I let her know she is too close and we bark at each other. Otherwise, all you hear out of me is a little snore when I sleep. I love to have my shoulders rubbed, and when you approach me, I raise my little paw in hopes you will give me a little massage. Apparently, I am pretty cute when I do it because foster mom always falls for it!
Did I mention I love toys?! I love them so much I hoard them! Yep, I have managed to collect all of them in the house and put them in my crate! I am quite the little treasure hunter! Well that’s all for now! See you next time!
7/2/2018 Update:
Please welcome Diamond to No Borders Bulldog Rescue. Diamond is a 6 year old female English Bulldog that weighs 58 lbs.
Diamond joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender. Diamond’s owner passed away several years ago. While family members attempted to care for Diamond, due to changes in their family situation and the rising cost of Diamond’s care, they decided it was best for Diamond to be surrendered to Rescue where she can get the care she needs and to find a forever family.
Diamond is like many of the Bulldogs surrendered to NBBR. She was several hours away and her surrendering family was unable to transport her. Luckily, the NBBR family of volunteers sprung into action and was able to get her to the DFW area and to the clinic.
We knew when Diamond joined NBBR she would need to go to the clinic immediately. She was diagnosed with pyometra while with her previous owners. Pyometra is a disease to be aware of for any unspayed dog or cat owner because of the sudden nature of the disease and the deadly consequences if left untreated. Pyometra is an infection of the uterus and can cause the uterus to rupture, causing death. In addition to pyometra, Diamond has SEVERE skin allergies/infections that will require antibiotics, medicated baths and changes in her diet.
Diamond is a very sweet loving Bulldog that only wants to be around humans. We don’t know much about her personality, but in the short time we have been acquainted with her it has been nothing but sweetness. Diamond’s previous family stated she had not been around other dogs much, so we will be introducing her slowly to other dogs to determine what forever home will be best for her. Diamond will be recovering at the clinic for a couple of days and then will be joining her foster family. Please keep Diamond in your thoughts and prayers as she begins her journey to find her forever family. A family that will treat her like the gem she truly is.
