2/22/2019 Update:

Dash was ADOPTED!!!!  Dash has secured his forever home and a happily ever after.

Dash joined NBBR as an owner surrender.  There were many volunteers from several different places involved to get Dash to NBBR.  We initially received a call from a non-bulldog rescue, stating that there was a Bulldog at a Vet’s office they work with needing help. Being that they were not familiar with Bulldogs, they asked if we could help. At that point the family that had Dash went radio silent, so we thought that it wasn’t meant to be.  Fast forward to the next afternoon when we received a call from a technician at the animal clinic stating the family had surrendered Dash and they needed someone to pick him up immediately (this was late Saturday evening).   In true NBBR fashion, a volunteer dropped everything and at a moment’s notice she was on her way to get Dash.  Dash spent the night at her house and then was transported to the DFW area. Dash’s first stop was the clinic to determine what he would need in terms of medical treatment.  While Dash is 6 years old, based on the vet records that were provided when he was surrendered, he had not been to the Vet since 2013 .   At first glance it was obvious that Dash had what looked like dry eye AND cherry eye.  We received a fairly good report card for Mr. Dash.  He was Heartworm Negative (a huge relief). However in addition to his eye issues, he had an ear infection, bacteria in his stool, needed to be neutered and would need all of his vaccines brought up to date.  Dash also had what appeared to be arthritis that requires daily joint supplements.

Dash joins his new forever family as the second NBBR Bulldog in the house.  Dash makes it a happy full household of three, joining his new fur sister Trixie and his new forever Mom.  Dash appears to like being the “man of the house”.  He immediately took to both fur sibling and parental unit.  We are so happy when any NBBR Bulldog is adopted, but especially when it is an older Bulldog that has been abandoned by their previous family and then passed over by so many as they look for the perfect Bulldog (aka in their mind a puppy).  Don’t get us wrong, we are not anti-puppy, but it makes your heart warm when an older Bulldog can find their “Happily Ever After”  Congratulations are in order for the entire family.

1/28/2019 Update:  Hi everyone, it’s Dash here!  I have been loving my new life in No Borders rescue. I have made a new friend of my foster sister, Trixie and we enjoy playing together. I am 6 years old, so I don’t have a ton of energy (I sleep a LOT, lol), and have a hard time seeing somethings, but give me a squeaky toy, and I will entertain myself for a while!  I love to cuddle with my foster mom on the couch, and will even cuddle with Trixie when she lets me. I am just a happy bully without a care in the world. Ive had a couple accidents in the house, but am working with FM to fix that. I also hate taking my daily eye drops, or get my ears cleaned, but love taking baths!

That’s all from here, hope to meet you all someday and get some good pets and lovings from you.

1/6/2019 Update:

Please welcome Dash to No Borders Bulldog Rescue. Dash is a 6 year old male English Bulldog that weighs 60 lbs.

Dash joined NBBR as an owner surrender.  There were many volunteers from several different places involved to get Dash to NBBR.  We initially received a call from a non-bulldog rescue, stating that there was a Bulldog at a Vet’s office they work with needing help. Being that they are not familiar with Bulldogs, they asked if we could help.

Dash is a very laid back bully gentleman.  While he may be on the “older” side of life, no one has told Dash that.  He definitely thinks that he is MUCH younger and that he can do anything and everything that those young whipper-snappers can do.  Dash wants to do everything himself. He doesn’t think he needs help getting it the car, the door opens and he is in.  Dash is a lover boy, everyone that has met him since joining NBBR has fallen in love with him.  He appears to get along with everyone that he meets, humans of all sizes, other dogs of any size AND he didn’t even seem to mind the resident cat when he was at the clinic for his surgeries.   Dash joined his foster family last weekend and has been getting acquainted.   Stay tuned for updates on this great guy as we learn more about him.
