5/11/2020 Update:
Cooper’s FM and FD here, it has taken sometime for us to write this….sometimes things don’t work out that the way you hope and pray they will. Somedays rescue is harder than you could ever imagine & somedays it’s unbelievably rewarding. We had to say goodbye to Cooper, we didn’t want to, but we unfortunately just couldn’t fix him. Abuse, irresponsible breeding, we just don’t know what it was. (FM &FD) with the help of No Borders Bulldog Rescue did everything we could think of to rescue our Cooper. Medication, trainers, behaviorists, the list was extensive, NBBR spared no expense. We worked w/ Cooper for almost a year…. he was goofy, funny, loving, playful guy (most of the time). He was a champion at burning out … a 4 wheeler drive burner as FD would say. For the last year he knew nothing but LOVE and Happiness. The Demons of his past haunted him and he would aggressively lash out, not realizing the severe injuries that he caused. Cooper’s aggression got progressively worse and more unpredictable, making it even more difficult. If Love could have cured him he would have been here now. We say Bye to our Cooper, see you one day, Love FD and FM.
3/29/2020 Update:
Coop here, all is well with my Foster Family. Just practicing our Shelter at Home. My Foster Dad is now working from home, which is cool. I lay at his fee and Foster brother and Foster sister lay beside his chair. We have a great time and I even get my daily walk, which I love. Have had NO incidents or behavioral issues. This is HUGE news and we all have been working hard on this. Still holding out for my very own Forever Family. Until next time, practice social distancing and open your heart to someone who needs it. Coop out!!!
2/23/2020 Update:
Cooper here. It’s been a minute since I last reported in. I have been doing Great. My FF went on another trip and I had a visit to the Kennel with no incidents. At home with my FF and my brother and sister, things have been fun. We get are daily walks and the chow is good. I love playing ball in the house and laying on my FF bed before I get in my crate for bed. I can say that my FF have learned my triggers that make me act out at times. I am still hoping someone will come forward and give me the Love and Understanding my FF have for me. Until next time, Copper out.
12/29/2019 Update:
Cooper here. Been a weird week for me. I bit my FFD on the elbow when he startled me on the couch. I also have been having growling moments once I ‘be been placed in my crate at night. I really am looking for a FF environment that will work with my issues. I know my current FF family is running out of options with me. I know they love and care for me, but I need to find a new chance to help me with my issues. I still enjoy the freedoms of the house, yard, FF bed and walk. Well, hoping that someone will take me in and give me another chance, Cooper out for this week.
12/22/2019 Update:
Copper checking in after a 2 week sit out. Been doing Great and enjoying my FF family over these Holidays. I have no complaints and have been enjoying my evening walks and my FF bother and sister. I have been getting the freedom to fall asleep with my FF brother and sister on my FF bed. I got another bath this week and dog do I not only look good, but smell good too. Chow and snacks are the Bomb, and with Xmas coming up I get some good snacks. Looking for someone out there to give the Love and understanding that my FF does. Ruff Ruff (Happy Holidays)
10/27/2019 Update:
Well Cooper here, I went home to my FF farm for a week. I had the run of the place, but I have to report I bit two of my FF family members, drawing blood, with both. I am not proud of this or is my FF of. Both bites involved being in a somewhat dark area, meaning I am having vision issues my FF believes is why I am having issues with biting. We are not really sure, but I am scheduled to go and see a Eye Doctor thanks to No Borders and Mr Troy. I am trying to get better and my FF is hanging in there with me. Hoping for a 4 EverFamily to jump in.
10/21/2019 Update:
Cooper here… went to the farm for the weekend, and had a great time. I had the run of the house as well as all the land. I got to hang out with the cows and the other dogs. I hope someone out there will take a liking to me and give me a chance at having a forever family. But until then, I know my FF will continue to Love and help me wait it out. I have not always been the easiest of Bulldogs. I have some emotional issues that are fear based. So, when I get scared I used to lash out, my FF and I have been working hard on this and I have made HUGE improvements. I guess you would say I am a work in progress. While I a still working on the final product, what I am currently is a pretty dang cool dog. Am I the dog, for everyone…. NO, but I know that special home is out there, so every night before I go to bed I say a little prayer that they will find me. Last but not least, I also want to give a woof out to No Borders Rescue for hanging in there with me and my FF. Coop out!
9/29/2019 Update:
Coop here, I got a new toy, a rubber chicken it makes a cool noise, I love it! FD says I have become a momma’s boy, which when I first came to my FF home it was determined that I didn’t like women, but with all the love my FM has given me I am a changed dog, life is good. FM said with the weather becoming more “bulldog friendly” that I will start getting more walkies. which I love! That is all for now, Coop out!
9/22/2019 Update:
Hey everyone, Cooper here, just want to review with everyone the “Cooper Rules”. It took me a long time to get my FF to understand these rules. Life is great when all these rules are followed.
1. Never ever startle me.
2. My crate is mine, do not invade my territory. Don’t stick your fingers in my crate or pull on me while I am in my crate.
3. If I am hanging my head, I don’t feel good and need to go to my crate to rest.
4. Do not get in my face
5. Do not pet me unless I ask you to.
6. If a stranger comes our house .. let me come to the stranger and ask for pets. Strangers scare me.
7. When I am on my leash walking please do not let strangers approach me, they scare me.
8. Riding in the car scare me, so I need my cate to feel safe.
9. You must play ball with me.
10. Walks are a must… I love it
Many of these rules apply to all my Foster friends. Follow the rules and life will be great. Much love Cooper… Cooper out!
9/16/2019 Update:
Cooper here, dog have I made giant steps here with my FF. I have had NO anger issues or problems with any of my FF family or my FF dags. I get to sleep in my FF bed with my FF dogs too. I am one with them and I know they love me. I love and to get to play ball (I got 3 balls). I can only say to anyone out there following me, my FF and No Borders have helped me out of the past that troubled me and I am happy. I can go and do what ever I want at my FF home with no restrictions. The Dog Gods are with me. Cooper out until next week.
9/9/2019 Update:
Cooper here, been out on my FF farm for the 4 day holiday, and dog did I have a Fun time. I got to be free range in and out of the house with all of my FF family as well as their dogs like me. I got to run and play ball and hang out with my FF dog sisters and brothers. We chased the cows around and laid out on the decks around the house and couches in the house. Had a great time with no aggression or biting issues. My FF told me over and over on the way back to Dallas how proud they were of me. I am still hoping for a forever family like what I am blessed with now. Copper out for now.
8/27/2019 Update:

I get to play ball in the house, which I love. I got a bath today, and I am getting better at it. I am still holding out for my forever family, but I love where I am at now. So for now, I just want to thank my FF and No Borders for giving me a chance at getting a forever home. Until next week, Coop out.
8/21/2019 Update:
Cooper here, have had another good week. I am still taking my Med’s for the staph infection on my back. I really feel like one of the Family here at my FF. 8/11/2019 Update:
Cooper here. Dog have I been improving. I have had NO anger issues since last reporting in. Also my FF had a Nephew come in and spend the night and I had no issues with him, I slid right over asked for some petting, which he obliged. I hate to report that I had to go to see the Vet to be treated for a Ear And Skin infection. But as usual No Borders had me taken care of. I really am trying to be adoptable Bull Dog, and I know my FF are doing everything they can along with No Borders to give me a chance for that forever home/ family. I love my FF but I am hoping that someone out there will take me on and Love and help me be in their Family like my FF does. Copper out for now, and remember, we are all Special and deserve to be loved cared for.
7/15/2019 Update:
It’s Copper here, had a Great week here with my loving FF. I am learning to be more sociable and disciplined. I now understand when my FF tells me no couch and lay on my area. I love playing with my FF throwing my toys and bringing them back to them. They are now leaving me out with my FF brother and sister pals. I am still hoping someone connects with my message, and understand the needs I’m working towards, and will take and Love Me. Until next week, Copper out.
7/2/2019 Update:
It’s Cooper and I am doing a whole lot better thanks to Mr. Scott that No Borders is allowing me to visit. Me and my FF go for a hour visit with Mr. Scott every two weeks. It’s helping me to overcome my fear of people that I may encounter. I am still hoping to find my FEF that can have the patience and love that my FF and No Borders have been providing. I know that they aren’t giving up on me, and that inspires me to work through my anxiety issues. I am working hard and waiting for my FEF to find me. Will update you next week, bye for now- Copper.
3/31/2019 Update: Cooper here, had another eventful week. I learned that my Heartworm treatment does not allow me to get out and run around with my FF. That really upsets me, cause they are so cool with me, and I miss that walk with them. However, they allow me out of my nice cage that they provide me with a high coushion and plenty of chew toys to keep me occupied. I have to say though, I am jealous of my new FF Ray and Molley Mae. I am thinking I will probably love to find my forever home with just a FF for now, cause I want all the Love and Attention. Until next week, Coop out.
3/25/2019 Update: Mr. Cooper

But my new FF are cool, they are teaching me the way And I have 2 new family dog bother and sister, Molley Mae and Ray, and the are the Bomb. 3/9/2019 Update:
Please welcome Cooper to No Borders Bulldog Rescue. Cooper is a 3 year old male Olde English Bulldog that weighs 44lbs.
Cooper joined the NBBR family in a round about way. The family that owned him, took him to the vet for a routine checkup. That is when the family found out that he was Heartworm positive. They asked the Veterinarian to euthanize him because the treatment was too expensive. Fortunately for Cooper, there was a compassionate Vet and Vet Tech who got the family to surrender Cooper to them. Initially Cooper went home with the Vet Tech to see if he would be a good fit. Unfortunately thing did not work out (she already had 8 dogs and several human children). So she reached out to NBBR to see if we could help.
Cooper’s first stop was the clinic to confirm his Heartworm diagnosis (it was positive) and to get him up to date with all his necessary vaccinations. Unfortunately/Fortunately Heartworm treatment is not uncommon for the volunteers with NBBR. Cooper received his first treatment and stayed overnight at the clinic. He will join his foster family where he will need to have antibiotics, steroids and 30 days of crate rest. After the 30 days of crate rest, he will go back to the clinic for his second round of treatment and another 30 days of crate rest.
Cooper has been through a lot in a very short amount of time. It appears that he may have been physically abused at some time in his life. He is a happy boy, but needs time to get to know “strangers”. Cooper is currently with his foster family and settling in well. They are taking things very slowly with Cooper and giving him plenty of love and time to learn to trust humans again. Stay tuned for more updates as we learn more about Mr. C and his journey to becoming healthy and finding his forever family.
