8/13/2017 Update:
7/16/2017 Update: Claire here: I have and a pretty low key week, I’ve been resting from my surgery and big brother is still taking good care of me. He lets me eat right out of his own bowl he feels so bad for me! Think I’m going to play this up for another week or so, that way I can continue to get all the love!
I get really good food here, I think it helps my coat feel softer. My foster parents tell me my face is looking better and my skin and fur fell 100% better than it did 2 weeks ago! I’m hardly shedding now.
I still love to cuddle and soak up as much love as they will give me. I really like meeting new people too, they always tell me I’m so pretty and I’m always the center of attention with them.
I did have a couple of accidents in the house this week, but now that Dr H has me on some medication for my UTI, it’s gotten much, much better and I bark to let my foster parents know I need to go out.
This morning I got a bath and played in the grass with my “big” toys….foster brother Rocky let’s me play with his (when he’s not looking that is)!!!! I do love to run and play, but my foster parents have to make me stop playing to come inside when it’s too hot. I just don’t get it, don’t they know that I LOVE to play??? 🎾⚽️🎾
I’m still looking for my forever home, so if you would like to adopt me, go to the website and fill out an application and let NBBR know you are interested in me. Until next week here are a couple of photos my foster mom got this morning after my bath and a video of what I love to do!!!!
7/7/2017 Update: Claire is resting well after her spay and big brother is keeping watch. He has not left her side since she came home. She got a little cold so she tried to cover herself, just not gracefully so foster mom had to help her. Dr H said she had some scarring from her c-sections but she is good to go now and will never have to worry about that again!!! The staff at Dr H’s office was so surprised how well she looked in just 4 short days. Good food and taking care of her skin has helped a lot. Her shedding has almost completely stopped and her coat is looking and feeling way better!!
7/2/2017 Update: Please welcome Claire to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue Family. Claire is a 3 year old female French Bulldog weighing 20 lbs.
Claire’s family recently bought a new home and decided Claire couldn’t move with them. They did not want her in their new home. So, she went to live with the in-laws, was listed for sale and waited for somebody to buy her. Once again, our Bulldog loving friends found her listing, raised the money and immediately set out to secure her freedom.
Claire has been staying with a temporary foster since Thursday and today our volunteers set out early to transport Claire the 4.5 hours to her new foster home. During the second leg of transport, our volunteer spent the entire 2.5 hours scratching and loving on Claire. Claire closed her eyes and leaned her head back as if it was the best thing that has ever happened to her.
When Claire joined Rescue she was covered in fleas, has a skin infection, her coat is very course with a significant amount of shedding (based on what was left behind in the car, our volunteer wasn’t sure she would have any left!), her back end is urine stained and she is not spayed. Claire will be heading to the clinic for a complete check up, will be brought up to date on her vaccines and will have her spay surgery later this week.
Despite the neglect Claire has suffered, she is a total love bug. Her foster parents took her immediately to Hollywood Feed where she soaked up all of the love from the employees before heading to back for a bath. She must have felt like a brand new dog after her bath as she came out of the bathing station, picked out a new toy and proceeded to play with it in the car all the way home.
Welcome to the good life, Claire. We will get you all fixed up and find you the perfect forever home.
