8/16/2016 Update: Chip was ADOPTED yesterday!!!! Chip has a very interesting story and is exactly why rescues do what we do. Chip was abandoned by his previous owners and found his way to our rescue.  We weren’t the first rescue approached but because he is an American Bulldog many thought that “he was un-adoptable”.  Many were VERY wrong.

Interestingly enough, when Chip’s new mom applied to adopt a Bulldog she had a completely different type of dog in mind (a short, fat English Bulldog). But through the adoption process and many conversations with our volunteers, we found out that a short, fat English bulldog might not be the perfect fit for her.  So…she started looking at other available dogs on our website and found Chip.  On paper Chip seemed like the perfect fit for her lifestyle and the type of dog she had previously.  After talking to Chip’s foster mom (who also thought it was a match made in heaven), it was decided that a meet and greet was in order.  The meet and greet started off tense as both Chip and his forever mom seemed a little nervous. So Chip, foster mom, and forever mom took a walk to get to know each other and by the end of the walk….they were in love.  Chip quickly lost his nervousness and sat at his new mom’s feet.

We received an update last night from Chip’s new forever mom and everything was going GREAT.  After leaving the adoption meeting, Chip and his mom went to the pet store to pick out a few new things (can you say spoiled already). Everyone at the pet store that met Chip, instantly fell in love with him. They then went home to settle in together.  After a nice meal and an evening walk, which is Chip’s favorite thing, Chip came home and curled up on his bed as if to say “I’m finally home”. Chip really did hit the jackpot with his new forever mom, he is now the apple of her eye and is getting all the love and attention he so rightfully deserves. Congratulations to both Chip and his new momma.

8/11/2016 Update: Chip had a great week last week.  He’s really coming out of his shell and showing off his awesome personality.  He’s really laid back and loves nothing more than hanging out with his foster parents, walks and car rides.  He enjoys his foster sister, and he’s worked out a truce with his foster brother.

His fosters family has been traveling some, so he’s been staying at a pet resort and meeting lots of new dogs in the day care program.  Everyone loves Chip, and he’s been enjoying all of the extra snuggle time from the staff.

7/24/2016 Update: Hi everyone, it’s Chip checking in again!  This week was pretty uneventful, but I did get to go to the vet’s office.  Unlike a lot of dogs, I love going to vet – or anywhere else, really.  I get to ride in the car, check out a new place and meet some new people.  I was so popular at the vet’s office that all of the vet techs came out to meet me and tell me how pretty I am.  I know that, of course, but it’s still nice to hear.

I got some shots and the doctor confirmed that I am in perfect health.  I’ve even lost a few pounds with my walks around the neighborhood.

7/17/2016 Update: Hi everyone!  It’s Chip checking in after my first week as a No Borders Bulldog Rescue foster dog.  I’m settling in to my foster home and my daily routine, which includes my favorite activities:  walking and sleeping.  I get to go on a long walk in the morning where I greet all of my neighbors before eating breakfast and settling in for my long morning nap.

I usually wake up for a while to chew on one of my toys before taking another nap to get ready to greet my foster dad when he gets home from work.  My super exuberant greeting usually wears me out, so I take another quick siesta after dinner and before my evening walk.

My foster brother and I are still getting used to each other, so my foster mom bought me a nice big crate and a fluffy bed to sleep on at night.  I’ve never been in a crate before, but I don’t mind.  I bark a couple of times to let her know that the crate was not my idea, but I always go right in when she tells me it’s time for bed.

My favorite napping spot, though, is on my giant dog bed in my foster mom’s office.  She puts up a gate to separate me from my foster brother, but I’ve been ignoring him lately.  My foster parents say that I’m a really good dog, and everyone in the neighborhood is always telling me how pretty I am.  I just give them my bulldog grin and keep walking.

7/10/2016 Update: Please welcome Chip to the NBBR family. Chip is a 9 yr. old American Bulldog that weighs    lbs.  Chips family recently  moved and wouldn’t take him with them.  The family left him with a neighbor in the middle of the night and left Chip homeless. Luckily for Chip, the neighbors that his family left him with are great people and they decided to foster him until we could find him a forever home.

Chip is still setting in to his new surroundings, where he has two foster fur siblings. He is doing well with his foster sister. Chip and his foster brother are still working out a few minor differences of opinion but all in all he is a GREAT dog that has A LOT of new, stressful situations thrown at him.

Chip loves going on  walks. His foster mom takes him on a walk every morning before it gets to hot. Chip is trying to shed a few pounds so he will be in perfect shape when he meets his forever family (and so he looks extra sharp for the ladies he meets on his walks).  So to help him meet his goal of a slimmer waistline Chip’s foster mom is trying to walk him in the evening as well (if it’s not to hot).  Chip is a very curious guy and exploring his new neighborhood is his FAVORITE thing to do.

Chip would like to find a forever family that would like to take him for walks, cuddle on the couch and just enjoy life, Does this sound like you? If so, please fill out an adoption application.
