Brody was ADOPTED!!!! Mr. B has officially left the building.
Brody joined the NBBR family via way of a local shelter. While he wasn’t a stray, we don’t know a whole lot about him other than he was surrendered to the shelter by his family. The notes stated that there were multiple dogs involved, but no additional details were noted. The shelter contacted us and asked if we would be able to help him find a new forever family. This shelter, like many lately, have had a run-on Bulldogs. We had recently worked with them on another NBBR intake, so they had our information at the ready. We were full BUT Brody needed the help of a dedicated Bulldog Rescue, so we said yes and then figured out the details. Brody’s first hurdle was that he was Heartworm positive. Many shelters don’t have the resources to treat heartworm positive pups. This particular shelter has a “foster to adopt” program for Heartworm positive patients. They allow the dog to leave the shelter with medication and the fosters are instructed to return for additional treatment. While this program works if everyone does what they are supposed to, our intake coordinator was concerned that many things could go wrong for Brody. We did some juggling to welcome him into the fold. So, Brody left the shelter having already started the first stage of his heartworm treatment which was then completed while at his foster home.
Brody’s forever family is very familiar with him. They were actually his foster family. They didn’t start out as a foster family, instead they applied to adopt. They had visited our website and found a Bulldog that they thought would be a great fit for them. Unfortunately, the pup they had their eyes on was in the process of being adopted by another very happy family. So, after a discussion with our Foster Coordinator and some soul searching, they decided that they would foster a Bulldog while they waited for “the one”. This was great news for us, as we were able to help another Bulldog in need. Brody’s foster family had no idea what they would get as their foster. They signed up to foster and agreed to take the next available Bulldog that needed fostering. When Brody joined NBBR, he was earmarked and went immediately to his new foster family. While there Brody adjusted well to his new surroundings and all the new people/dogs he came in contact. Fostering is not always sunshine and rainbows and Brody’s story is no exception. Brody was doing well, and everyone was in love and ready to make his adoption official when an “incident” happened. Brody’s human sister was playing, and Brody got over excited. This incident scared his foster family, and they thought that he may not be “the one” for them. Even through all this, they were committed to making sure that he found the best possible home. Flash-forward a few days, and our Adoption Coordinator received a text asking if they could adopt Brody after all. They explained that they had made a rash decision and after thinking about it, discussing with everyone in the family and some serious soul searching they knew in their hearts that Brody was exactly where he belonged. After discussing this with them further everyone was in agreement that they were indeed the right family for Brody.
Brody hit the jackpot with his new family. He now has a Mom, Dad, sister (human) and two canine siblings. Life is definitely good for Mr. B and his new family. Congratulations to the entire family. Thank you for opening your heart and home to a very special little guy and giving him the life that he so deserves.

Hey y’all, Brody here. Gratitude is the word of the day. 🙏 Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to my foster sister, Miss Queen Bee herself (the old lady bulldog), for finally taking me under wing and showing me things that have blown me away. Like, did y’all know about sunbathing??? Queen Bee showed me the best spot on the back patio to catch the morning sun for a few minutes before heading inside to lay on the cool concrete. This is absolute nirvana. I am so very grateful to my foster sis for sharing this and other wonderful secrets with me!

Hey y’all! I’m here to tell you that your favorite Brody is a lover, not a fighter….except when it comes to heartworms! 🪱I’m happy to say I’ve fully finished my heartworm treatment and only have a couple more weeks to wait for a final heartworm test. If my test results are negative, I’ll have successfully beaten those terrible buggers: Bam! POW!💥Kicked ’em to the curb!💥

Friends, I know I’ll never want for anything again in life because I have perfected the “hopeful Brody stare”, and so far no one is immune to my gaze. One look at foster mom, and she’s tripping over herself to bring me treats and shower me with pets and more pets. The little human foster sister ooos and ahhhs over my soulful look. Guests in the house rush to cuddle me and tell me what a sweet boy I am.
Adoption Fee: $400.00

Hello adoring fans and Brody followers! It’s been one very productive week for the Brominator. I’ve been updating my Brody résumé this week so I can impress my forever family. 🔖✔️
4/28/2024 Update:
I, Brody – Brominator, Brodster -, have decided I do not want to be an only dog. I love my foster sibs and can be found wherever they are (which *coincidentally* is wherever foster mom is). Pack life is the life for me. 🐕🦮🐩🐕🦺🐾

Happy Solar Eclipse Day, y’all! Brody here. It’s been a busy week, my friends. Firstly, guess who mastered using the dog door? *This* guy! 🙌 It’s pretty awesome knowing I have the power to go outside when I need. Occasionally I look out the door just to see what’s happening outside, but mostly I go out to do my business and then come right back in. Why? Because inside living is where it’s at. 😎 I’m an inside kind of guy! I’m a couch potato at his finest.
In medical news, I visited the doc last week and got an injection for my heartworms. ❤️🩹 Things went well. I learned two things from this visit. Firstly, seeing my foster family pick me up after an overnight stay with the vet had me bursting with joy. I’ve moved around a bit, seeing numerous people these last few weeks. It was VERY exciting knowing I was returning with my foster family to their home after my injection. I’m a family guy. I want my people, and my people want me, whomever they are; I just know it! I couldn’t sit still the whole way back to my foster home. I kept climbing onto foster mom’s lap while she drove, giving her kisses. She reminded me to sit safely until we returned home, then she showered me with the lovin’ I deserve.
Secondly, I’ve developed a new infatuation. The good doc told me I have to keep my energy low while the medication is doing its thing. I’ve been minding the doc by chilling bunches and in doing so, I’ve discovered PILLOWS! That’s right, friends, pillows. All pillows. Couch pillows, floor pillows, fluffy dog beds, throw pillows (although, that one confuses me….why would you throw a pillow?). Give me a pillow and let me get my cuddle on.
All in all, friends, I’m thriving. My appetite is healthy. I love cuddles and hugs. I’m friendly with my canine foster sisters. I ADORE people. I’m the perfect little man. Ok, ok, the perfect little man whom foster mom and dad say needs to learn a few table manners. I swear I can’t help myself though! Foster dad is one of the executive chefs or something and his food smells DIVINE. I don’t thinks it’s fair I’m excluded from the humans’ meals, so it’s *possible* I bark when they sit down to a meal. Every time. I’m just giving my compliments to the chef, obviously. My kibble and snacks are super tasty, but I want that human food!
Hmmmm. Maybe I should work on better table manners like my foster sisters. 🤔 It might be worth my while! 💡That will be my focus for this next week. My furever family might be blown away by a well mannered boy like that. I’ll just send those good, well-mannered Brody vibes out into the universe.
Until next time…..
😎💚 Brody
3/26/2024 Update:
Hey all, Brody here! I am so very thankful NBBR was able to find me a foster home because life is GOOD here with my foster family. I’ve taken the week to settle in and find my place in the middle of the pack with my two canine foster sisters (and one human foster sister!). I’m a pretty chill dude, so I’m happy to let the old lady bulldog remain queen bee in the house.😎 I’m mostly here for the cuddles anyway. I could spend hours getting pets and belly rubs. If I feel I’m not getting enough snuggle attention, I’ll strut over, plop my head in your lap, and stare at you wide eyed until you cannot resist lovin’ on me.
It’s pretty cool living with a bunch of ladies. Foster dad and I are the only boys in the house, so I spent my first two days in my foster home thoroughly marking every tree in the back yard so everyone knows there’s a new man in town! I haven’t quite figured out how to use the dog door to the back yard, but foster mom thinks I’ll get it soon. If the door is swinging, I have no problem walking through, but if it’s still, I’m pretty sure it’s a window and I’m not supposed to touch it. What can I say? I have good manners. I don’t want to scratch the “window”. But I’m a determined boy, and I’ll figure that doggy door situation out soon. And I definitely enjoy those little treats I get when I figure out how to do something the preferred way. 🤩🤩🤤
I’m going to spend this next week working on my understanding of basic commands. Foster mom doesn’t think I’ve been trained previously. While I walk on a leash pretty well, I don’t quite understand “sit”, “come”, and so forth. I think I’ll pick those commands up pretty quickly because my foster sisters know what to do and I’ve started copying them when foster mom or dad ask us to do something. Like I said, I like treats, so I’m happy to learn! ☺️

Please welcome Brody to No Borders Bulldog Rescue. Brody is a 6-year-old male English Bulldog that weighs 55 lbs.
Brody joins the NBBR family via way of a local shelter. While he wasn’t a stray, we don’t know a whole lot about him other than he was surrendered to the shelter by his family. The notes stated that there were multiple dogs involved, but no additional details were noted. The shelter contacted us and asked if we would be able to help him find a new forever family. This shelter (like many lately have had a run-on Bulldogs. We had recently worked with them on another NBBR intake, so they had our information at the ready. We were full BUT Brody needed the help of a dedicated Bulldog Rescue, so we said yes and then figured out the details.
Brody’s first hurdle is that he is Heartworm positive. Many shelters don’t have the resources to treat heartworm positive pups. This particular shelter has a “foster to adopt” program for Heartworm positive patients. They allow the dog to leave the shelter with medication and the fosters are instructed to return for additional treatment. While this program will work if everyone does what they are supposed to, our intake coordinator was concerned that many things could go wrong for Brody, and we did some juggling to welcome him into the fold. So, Brody left the shelter having already started the first stage of his heartworm treatment. We will continue that medication and prepare him for the next stage of the treatment.
The first thing you notice about Brody is that he is a complete flirt. When he met our volunteer at the shelter, he came sprinting/lumbering right up to him to introduce himself. Afterall, Bulldogs that are Brody’s age don’t typically sprint anywhere, but he does move well and has quite a “pep in his step”. After introducing himself, he quickly flopped over on his back to get in a quick belly rub. Once Brody decided that his belly had been sufficiently rubbed, it was time to load up and head out. While enroute to the clinic to get a complete physical exam he did his very best to worm his head into our volunteer’s lap so that he could be as close as caninely possible. Other than the Heartworm diagnosis, Brody got a clean bill of health and released to join his foster family.
While meeting his new foster family he did the same routine that he did when he met our volunteer. A quick introduction followed by flopping over on this back to get his belly rubbed. All reports from his foster family have been glowing. Brody walks well on a leash. He takes his medications like a champ. The shelter staff alerted us that he liked his meds wrapped in Vienna Sausages or cheese. Brody’s foster family is taking the slow approach to introducing him to his foster siblings but so far Brody has been nothing but pleasant. Currently, Mr. B is doing some chilling and decompressing. He has had a stressful couple of weeks. Brody is a true example of how resilient dogs can be if given a little time and some TLC. Stay tuned for updates on Brody as his foster family learns more about him and what makes him tick. This valuable information will help us help Brody determine what his best forever home looks like.
