3/28/2019 Update:
Blue has been ADOPTED!!!!! Mr. B has hit the jackpot and found the perfect forever parents. From today on, he will be spoiled rotten and be the apple of his new parents eyes.
Blue, his mother and sister all joined the NBBR family together as owner surrenders. Their family had a significant change in their life. This change in lifestyle meant the Bulldogs were spending many hours crated. The family really loved the trio of B’s and after much discussion and thought, they contacted NBBR and asked if we would help them find forever homes. The family knew they were no longer able to provide the best life for the dogs and wanted them to be happy and have all the attention they deserve. Blue’s first stop after joining was to the clinic to get a quick check up. Blue was very loved and well taken care of. He was up to date on all vaccines, Heartworm preventative and was Heartworm negative. Blue had a minor ear infection and a mild case of luxating patella. It was determined that his luxating patella could be treated by a daily joint supplement.
Blue was the last of the three family members adopted. This was due to the fact that Blue has some special requirements. While he is very lovable and snuggly, he has very severe separation anxiety. This anxiety makes it necessary to have someone with him as much as humanly possible. Enter Blue’s new forever family: They have had Bulldogs previously and knew exactly what they were signing up for. However, after loosing a beloved Bulldog, they decided it was time for the pitter patter of another Bulldog around the house. They applied and patiently went through the approval process. When it came time to discuss potential matches for them, Blue was not on the list. However after speaking with our Adoption Coordinator they added Blue to a short list of two dogs and asked to speak to each of their respective foster families. Blue checked off every box for them and they checked off every box for him. Blue’s new foster Dad has the flexibility to take Blue with him to work every day (and plans to do just that). On those days that Blue isn’t feeling like “working” he can stay at home and chill with his Mom who recently retired. Soooo, Mr. Blue has found the perfect home for him. He can have human interaction 24/7. Sometimes in Rescue we humans get frustrated and think that “this dog will NEVER get adopted”, however with patience there is a fit for every Bulldog out there. Blue is living proof of that. Congratulations are in order for the entire family. We wish you a long happy life together.
3/25/2019 Update: Today was a great day. I went and had a nice pedicure. I looooved everyone, dog and human, and they loved me. Then fmom took me to a place where they sell lots of stuff for her to use when she takes stuff apart. Someone that worked there had snacks in his pocket just for me. After all that love I was tired and slept all the way home.
3/11/2019 Update:
Hey guys,
2/17/2019 Update: Hey guys! It was an exciting weekend. My Ffam took me to this place with so many people and everyone wanted to pet me and love me. I may have even had my first taste of beer from some that spilled on the ground. Don’t fret I was not a fan. I was so well behaved. BUT man oh man was I exhausted towards the end. When I got in the car I didn’t even make it the end of the block and I was asleep, Snoring. And that is the topic of this weeks update. My many sleeping styles. #1 I do not sleep alone, I Iike to be as close to a person as possible. So if you have never had the joy of sleeping with a toddler, I will gladly enlighten you. Although, when I stayed with grandma and grandpa I had to sleep in my dog bed but I wasn’t far away. Grandma had my bed near theirs. #2 I will get in where I don’t fit in. Do not think that small spot between you and the couch are safe. #3 If we are lounging watching TV I will sleep on your lap. This is actually one of my favorite things. Me and Fmom spend an hour or two on the couch with our blanket. This is one of those times I got right to her and ignore everyone else. Fdad tried to get in my spot the other day and I guess he just didn’t realize it was my time. So, I enforced #2. The small spot was between fdad, fmom and the ottoman. Just to recap I need a home preferably with someone who is there most of the day. I do not think I could make it 8 hours alone. I have come a long way in my separation anxiety but it took a lot of love and understanding. I like all dogs. Cats are questionable. I LOVE to chase squirrels. But my favorites things are eating and sleeping. Until next time Big Blue signing off
10/15/2018 Update: Hey guys Big Blue here. I would like to tell you guys about a few of my favorite times of day. FEED TIME! I know hard to believe I love to eat with my hunk physique. I know exactly where I am supposed to be to get my bowl. I don’t have to be shut in anymore we all get along at food time. My one fsis eats in the kitchen only cause she’s slow. Acts like shes all dainty or something. Then when my humans eat I have my spot at the table too. I normally don’t get anything but a guy can try.
5/22/2018 Update: Hey guys let me introduce myself, my name is Big Blue. Yup, that’s right, Big Blue cause I’m 72lbs of hunka hunka bully love. I have to admit my week was a little a rough I was stressed when I got to my new house, I was outnumbered with all the females, that would send any normal guy into over drive. At least that’s my version of the story and I am sticking to it. Things have gotten better and I am much more at ease now. My new fam is pretty cool considering there are a lot of ladies and only 3 of us dudes, I have no idea how they survived without me. Me and my human foster brother are the best buddies. We sleep, eat, watch tv, play some computer games and just do guy things. I like to relax and take it easy. I even like to eat slow. I do my business outside and then go right back to bed in the mornings I rather eat a little later. I snore like no bully before me. Sometimes I even snore when I am sitting up and my peeps check to see if I am awake. I have to remind them I am just a big dude. I had to take a bath the other day, again I am a go with the flow kind of guy. I am not to partial on being left alone or even when my kid leaves me I whine and scratch. Apparently, that is not okay. They say, “Hey Blue, you’re just fine?” Really am I? How do you know? You aren’t in here. I do stop cause that is not a cool guy way to act. But now that me and the fur ladies of the house have met I really don’t have to be alone. Unless it’s feed time, everyone eats at different paces so we all have our feed spots so no one gets greedy, A few of these ladies are not worried about their figure. The fur ladies and me do ok. I like to test them and get to in their personal space when I shouldn’t but they sure let me know that is not ok, I think man oh man no wonder there aren’t more dudes around here. All in all these people think I am pretty good. I am not scared of thunder, the vacuum or hair dryer. I am not a huge fan of my ear drops but that’s almost over with. We did a short walk the other day after the storm when it was nice and cool. I did good. I pulled for a bit but then realized that was getting me no where faster. So I chilled and went with the flow. So if you’re looking for a hunk for your home I am your guy. I am the total hunk package brave, good looking, easy going. Until next week Big Blue signing off.
5/20/2018 Update:
Please welcome Blue to No Borders Bulldog Rescue. Blue is a 2.5 year old male English Bulldog that weighs 74 lbs.
Blue, Belle and Beatrix all join the NBBR family as owner surrenders. Their family has had a significant change in their life.
He was up to date on all vaccines, Heartworm preventative and is Heartworm negative. Blue does have a minor ear infection that will need to have daily drops but should clear up quickly. Blue also has a mild case of luxating patella, this is when the kneecap is not held stable by the ligaments and tendons and can move. Depending on the severity of this condition, it could require surgery. Currently Blue’s case appears to be very mild and we are going to treat it with joint supplements and monitor its progression.
Blue is a very happy go lucky boy that appears to like everybody and everything he meets. While he has been living with Belle and Beatrix, he does well with or without the others. They are not a bonded group. While we would love to keep them together, that is highly unlikely, so we will be focusing on each individual Bulldog and finding the best suited home for them. While all three of the Bulldogs made quite an impression at the clinic, we heard (off the record of course) Blue was everyone’s favorite. He is very goofy and is a “people pleaser” for sure. Blue joined his new foster family today. He jumped into the car and settled in while his chauffeur whisked him away to get acquainted with everyone in his foster home.
Stay tuned for additional information on Blue as he settles in with his foster family and we learn more about him. Once settled, Blue will begin looking for his new forever home. With his good looks and goofy personality, he will have applicants waiting in line
