10/14/2017 Update:
Blanca was ADOPTED!!! It is with the greatest of pleasures we are able to announce Blanca has found her forever family.
For a young puppy Blanca has had a few challenges. She was purchased by a loving family that thought it was a perfect fit. However, having a human sibling with autism made family life difficult. Blanca is a puppy with a lot of energy and she frightened her human sibling. After several months of trying to make everyone feel comfortable it was decided Blanca and her sister would be better off in separate homes. So, Blanca joined NBBR and joined her foster home where she was an instant hit with everyone.
What can we say…. Blanca’s new forever family are true Bulldog LOVERS!!! Having grown up in Georgia AND University of Georgia fans, to say they like Bulldogs would be an understatement. Blanca’s parents initially were going to purchase a puppy from a breeder, however the night they were supposed to contact the breeder to go get the puppy, the breeder told them they had sold their puppy to someone that offered more money. As you can imagine, they were crushed. But that same night, they accidently came across the NBBR website and immediately fell in love with Blanca. They completed their application immediately and hoped and prayed Blanca would still be available when/if they were approved. To their joy, when they were approved, Blanca was, in fact, still available. Blanca hit the jackpot with her forever family. She has a new Mom and Dad all to herself, no more sharing attention with pesky foster siblings. While Blanca does get along with other dogs, she will gladly welcome the opportunity to be the spoiled princess of her family. Blanca’s Mom was crushed she couldn’t be at the adoption, but since she is a Doctor and saves people’s lives, Blanca gave her a pass. Not having Mom there gave Dad and Grandma some extra bonding time. Blanca is also lucky in that her living arrangements allow for someone to always be home with her. Last but not least, Blanca also received a new middle name, she will now be known as Blanca Magnolia- a truly beautiful name for a truly beautiful Southern Belle. Congratulations to the entire family.
9/11/2017 Update: Blanca…. what to say about a 9mo old puppy. Not a lot, except she is puppy. Potty training is coming along, we still have accidents but for the most part she is pretty good.
She is an instigator….. I know that sweet mug, who would have ever thought it. LOL She also has a voice, a very profound voice. If you leave her in a room and she can’t get to you, you will hear about it, along with the neighbors. This girl has a good set of lungs.
If you are with her 1 on 1, she will just curl up next to you and be happy to lay and snuggle all day. She is not food aggressive. We feed her in a slow feeder bowl because she thinks if she doesn’t eat in in less than 1 minute it won’t be there. She is going to have to have her food and her treats monitored or I can see her putting on to much weight for her lil body. She walks fine, she is not a fan of the bath, but she will tolerate it. We are working on manners, she has none. I believe she was an only child, and we are trying to teach her it is not nice to jump and scratch her fur-siblings wanting all the attention. She does know sit and does it quite well on command. Keep in mind she is a puppy, so there is a lot of leaning and figuring out for her.
8/29/2017 Update: Please welcome Blanca to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family. Blanca is an 8 month old female English Bulldog that weighs 29 lbs.
Blanca joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender. Her previous family received her as a gift. The family was made up of a Mom, Dad and a little human for Blanca to call her own. However, Blanca’s skin sibling is autistic and was very scared of Blanca. Through no fault of Blanca’s, the family situation wasn’t working. They sent Blanca to a puppy manners class, where she did very well. But even with all the things they tried to help Blanca’s skin sibling learn not to fear her, it just wasn’t working. Actually, it was getting worse. It got so bad that Blanca’s sibling wouldn’t come out of the bedroom when Blanca was around. So, after several months of trying, the family knew Blanca would need to find a new forever home and made the very difficult decision to surrender her to rescue.
Blanca is a very well behaved and well cared for little Bulldog. Little is the first word that comes to mind when you meet Ms. Blanca and sassy is the second. What Blanca lacks in pounds she makes up for in spunk. She made a quick stop to the clinic to get a quick checkup. The checkup confirmed what we thought. Blanca is a healthy and happy little girl. She joined her new foster family tonight and will be getting to know her THREE new foster siblings. She has two foster sisters and a foster brother, so there should be plenty of opportunity for her to play. Stay tuned for more information on this sweet, sassy little lady as she begins her journey to find her forever family. With her petite stature and quirky personality, we’re sure she will have potential families lined up around the block.
