7/7/2017 Update:  

Axel was ADOPTED!!!  We are so happy to announce Axel has completed his journey and found his forever home.

Axel joined NBBR after being bounced from family to family. In a very short period of time (6 months) Axel had not one, but two, families.  We are not sure what happened with the first family, but the second family quickly discovered this energetic, all puppy guy was too much for them. In addition to his energy, Axel had skin issues and a case of double cherry eye they were unable to afford.

Axel’s forever family is no stranger to Bulldogs. They had recently adopted/rescued a Bulldog from NBBR and were beyond happy. After a very short amount of time, the love of their life passed away from liver failure. Needless to say, the family was devastated and was in mourning.  Deep in their hearts they knew they would have another Bulldog but were not sure when that would happen.  After months of feeling the “house wasn’t the same” and dealing with their loss, they decided it might be time to start looking again.  Enter Axel…. after reading his story, a family meeting was called and it was determined they wanted to schedule a Meet and Greet with Axel to see how he would respond to them.  It was love at first sight for all involved.  Axel had found his new family and his new family had found their newest member. What better way to celebrate their previous Bulldog than opening their heart to another one in need?  This is the true meaning of Rescue.  Congratulations to the entire family.

7/1/2017 Update:  Axel here. It’s been two days since my surgeries and I’m feeling great. And did you see my eyes? They look perfect!
Currently I’m slowly being introduced to the other dogs and cats in my foster home. It’s been a huge change moving me from home to home and I’m slowly getting comfortable.
Axel seems to be potty trained as we haven’t had any accidents in the house and he also does very well in the crate.
Axel likes going for walks but you have to be careful because he likes to tug and is very strong for a shorty. Having a harness really helps.

Axel is very very loving and enjoys being rubbed. He does have a lot of energy but he also loves being a couch bum and really enjoys chewing on his benebone.

6/26/2017 Update:   Please welcome Axel to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family.  Axel is an 8 month old male English Bulldog that weighs 45 lbs.
